Wonderful Family Vacation

We had a fabulous family week in Jamestown in this beautiful historic home! Howard and Susan greeted us when we arrived to answer any questions. The home was conveniently located making it easy to walk to the village, the playground and the harbor. Short drive away from Mackerel Cove Beach and the Beavertail Lighthouse. The kitchen was well stocked to cook family dinners and the outdoor BBQ and pool were amazing! There was plenty of space for the family to spread out for quiet time when needed and a wonderful gathering area for all. It was truly a privilege to stay in this beautiful home!! Thank you!

Perfect House for Whole Family

This property is fantastic! The actual property is more impressive in person. It was very conveniently located in Jamestown. Short walk to all the restaurants and beach. Great BBQ, huge pool and fully stocked kitchen was a huge plus. For 12 people there was even space for everyone to have quiet time when needed. Howard and Susan do a great job renting out their house and were always available to answer any questions. We will be back!

Lovely!

We had a blast. The house was perfect for our large family and Susan and Howard were super responsive and extremely friendly hosts. A short walk to the shops, a playground, and great food. Less than a five minute drive to a great little beach. Super close to Newport. Overall, very convenient, was a fantastic stay!

The Zwick’s were perfectly friendly and accommodating hosts, even gave recommendations for needs of our injured guest and transportation inquiry. The house was roomy well appointed. Would stay again!

Shoreby Hill

Great experience here. House and neighborhood are lovely, very short walk to small Jamestown harbor, ferry to Newport, and several small restaurants/coffee shops. Howard and Susan were great hosts. Would be particularly good spot for an extended stay. Highly recommend!

Great family retreat

Shoreby Hill provided a tranquil retreat for my family. 10 of us stayed a week and enjoyed staying on the property or walking into town. The property had everything we needed and Susan & Howard were gracious and responsive hosts. I couldn’t recommend the property enough. Plenty of beautiful inside and outside space with an amazing pool and a perfect location. We hope to return.

Family Vacation

Our extended family and dog had a relaxing and fun week together at Shoreby Hill. The house is large and very comfortable with a great front porch, heated pool, grill, and numerous places to sit both indoors and outdoors. The property is located in a very nice quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance of the town. The closest beach is readily accessible by bicycle or a short car ride. Newport is just over the bridge about 15 minutes away. We really enjoyed our time at Shoreby Hill and hope to return in the future. Thanks to Howard and Susan, who were great hosts!

Aug 2022 Family Vacation

This was our 7th family vacation in New England and our first time to the magical island of Jamestown. Susan and Howard so graciously opened their home to our family and we loved all the space the 5000 sq ft provided. Plenty of room to find a quiet spot to read or gather as a group. We loved the front porch, especially the swing, the beds were all cozy with quality linens and plenty of towels, a heated pool, and best of all, an easy walk to town for dinner, ice cream after dinner, or a stroll around the harbor. The beach is just a bike ride away, which are provided, and Newport is under ten minutes and fun for more excursions and beaches, and lots of beach chairs also provided. We took boats out of both Newport and Portsmouth and loved the waterways, lighthouses, and landscapes. We especially enjoyed Tallulahs Taqueria for super fresh Mexican, the Sugar Shack for ice cream, Zeke's Creek for fresh seafood, 1 Ferry Wharf for lunch, the Monday afternoon farmers market for bread and croissants and gazpacho soup, and J22 for a creative and delicious dinner. We had a magical vacation and loved it all!

This was our 2nd year vacationing at this beautiful family house!

This home is so comfortable for my family of 8 adults and 4 grandchildren. Plenty of space to get away from and spend time with each other. The heated pool is a plus -we all enjoyed it throughout the week. There are 2 beaches very easy to get to. Restaurants in Jamestown and Newport are wonderful! I would love to rent it again for next summer however we have a family wedding to plan! In essence, if you have a large family I highly recommend this vacation home - plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms- second year in a row and my family enjoyed it even more than last year!! Thank you Howard and Susan for being truly great hosts!!

Jamestown Rental House

Very nice (and large) front porch and pub for socializing, and a nice pool area in the backyard. A bit dated, but clean and nice overall, and a short walk into the village. The owners are responsive and helpful with any questions. We love Jamestown and have close friends in the village. It's a wonderful place to vacation, and you can pop into Newport on the ferry without any trouble at all. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Girl’s Weekend

Had a wonderful weekend with girlfriends at this amazing property. The house was very comfortable and spacious, quiet and centrally located in a beautiful neighborhood. Quick walk or drive to town. The front porch is a dream. The lovely homeowners were there to greet us and made sure we knew all the ins and outs of their home prior to our stay.

Jamestown Perfect for a Newport Wedding

We had a delightful four days at this elegant, comfortable, and welcoming home. The owners are most hospitable and see to every comfort. This house is wonderfully situated and features abundant, lovely indoor and outdoor spaces. It feels like home away from home. Great kitchen! Excellent features for the plugged and unplugged. The town is charming and walkable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this home wholeheartedly.

Wonderful experience

The pictures on the website seemed too good to be true. The property definitely looked like that. No exaggeration at all. It was gorgeous and spacious. We all had comfy beds with perfect temperature control with central air. The house was kid and dog friendly. The owners welcomed us and showed us around and explained how to use everything. They were gracious and happy to share their lovely home with us.
