Best spot in Jaco beach

Best location in Jaco beach. The whole team at Rio Mar was amazing from the driver to the chef to the concierge Tia and Matt. I would highly recommend any options they offer you like cooks and massages because everything was perfect. Thanks for an amazing trip.

Quick review

Overall, we were happy with our stay however, the lighting in the kitchen can use an update, and I was annoyed when I wanted to do a load of laundry, and the maid told me no because she had lots to do! I was also not happy about the fact that they said we left a stain on the bed which was not true and charged us $50. Other than that everything was fine.

Casa Riomar Grande in Jaco was a hit with all 23 of us

This was our planned vacation of a lifetime with our 4 married children and 13 grand children and it was a wonderful experience. The house is first class with a great layout offering privacy in bedrooms that all have their own bathroom, and common areas that are well laid out and fun spaces inside the house and around the pool. With 30 degrees and sunny everyday, the AC was appreciated, and we loved the pool as well as the beach with 3 ft waves perfect for learning to surf. The security staff were helpful and kept things tidy around the pool and the chefs we hired for three dinners did a great job. Thank you Concierge Tia for your help with activites and services.

THE BEST OF THE BEST IN JACO

IN THE BEGINNING: From the day we decided to get married in Cost Rica, a year and a half before our actual travel, I looked at no less than 100 properties on both coasts from the furthest north to the furthest south. We engaged 5 different properties, after multiple email exchanges and numerous phone calls the clear choice was Casa Rio Mar Grande and boy did this property and management team fulfill ALL my expectations which are pretty high as I have 3 vacation rentals myself. THE PROPERTY: MORE than we expected, we had a group of 25 and at no time did we ever feel like we were on top of each other. The deck is amazing, I spent every morning there drinking coffee watching the surfers. We had our wedding ceremony on the deck at sunset and we could not have creamed up a better spot! The kitchen is well appointed for large groups; pans/plates/cups/bowls(eating/mixing), cutting boards, knives, silverware, serving utensils etc… it was all there for everything you need. Beds/pillows are comfortable and there were more bath/beach towels than needed. The pool is perfect temperature, clean and inviting… After the wedding ceremony, we all jumped in the pool as a group in our wedding attire (beach stye). Did I mention we were the last house on the beach which means we had little to no traffic passing between the house and our view of the beach??? THIS was one of the property perks that came as a surprise but we all TRULY appreciated! STAFF: The full-time onsite grounds keeper doubled as our go to for anything we needed, BUT Tia (La Princesa) our hostesses was AMAZING. We had 4 different group outings, she had all the transportation at the house early with all the guides, answered all my questions, communicated at a high level and was just as sweet as can be… Matt was our initial contact when booking, we had many phone calls/email exchanges prior to arriving and all my questions were promptly addressed and answered. He even took us on a kick ass UTV trip up the river to waterfalls… this was an epic day! OVERALL: I have traveled all over the world, including my 5th time to Costa Rica and this was the best house/vacation rental I have ever experienced. If you are considering a trip to Costa Rica, have a large group and do not want to travel to far when doing your outdoor excursions… THIS is the place. I would like to thank Matt and his team for helping to facilitate memories of a lifetime!!!

Fabulous Home, Incredible Location

We had a spectacular time at the Casa Rio Mar home. It's location right on the beach in Jaco was perfect. We spent part of every day at the ocean surfing and playing in the waves with our kids. The house pool and covered decks were so fun too, especially for the families with infants. And the number of beds and baths enabled everyone to have their own room. Plus, Matt and Tia did an amazing job of helping us organize all of the excursions that we cared the most about. We especially loved the zip lines and ATVs. So much fun! The entire experience was top notch. Highly, highly recommend!

30th Birthday in Jaco

Our group of friends and family stayed for my 30th birthday. We had a great time- did a two night chef service at the house which was amazing. Tia helped us book a private boat tour to Tortuga island which was a blast! Also a 4 hour ATV ride which was by far our favorite day. If you have a large group going- I recommend getting a dj/band and a bartender to take advantage of the beautiful deck and scenery at the house. We couldn’t of had any more fun than we did. The only issue was the plumbing- Which was not working well after a large storm 3/4 days we were there. So we had to use the outdoor bathrooms and shower. However we acclimated and still had a blast. We had 24 hr security and people who cleaned the pool daily, aired up floats for us, cleaned up behind us and cleaned the plumbing issues. If you see any wild dogs around, definitely give them pets! They’re very kind and gentle. Overall recommend! We hope to be back! Thanks guys!

Casa rio mar was a perfect home for our family of 13! All the staff is very helpful and accommodating. From all the pre planning of excursions with Matt, Tia checking in daily and the 24 hour security Ronnie and Juan. Owner Jim is extremely involved and it’s comforting to know he wants to make sure his guests are happy. A business man with kindness who listens to suggestions and quickly fixes any issues.

Perfect location

We had 30 people and booked both properties. The place was beautiful! The house was very clean. There was a security guard 24 hours that also kept the outside area clean during our stay. It is steps from the beach and we truly loved waking up to walks on the beach. The layout gave you lots of privacy. The pool and deck area are beautiful! There are even nice outdoor bathrooms. Matt and Tia helped us with everything we needed. We got married on the beach and the wedding was beautiful! Matt is a great wedding planner! 😁 I highly recommend this place and we plan to visit again!

This place was perfectly amazing in the every way!!!

The staff, facility, location and house were all amazing…. Honestly if it had rained the entire time it would have been difficult because the indoor space is small. Just FYI keep in mind to discuss time of year with house contact. These are not complaints: I would have liked more non-breakable glass ware since all our time was spent outside and by the pool. If and when we needed something our staff was there to help immediately that was amazing!!! The listing stated surfboards were included at house which were not, so we rented for $10 per day for 2 kids that wanted to surf so it was an $140 unexpected expense. The AC had to be serviced twice during our stay but it was done so quickly and with out impact on our experience. This house has all the details down to perfection. I would limit what you plan on your own and just let them plan for you. Prior to and during your trip. I could go on and on with the amazing aspects of this trip and house. But you will just have to book and see for yourself. PS…. Newer deck in corner of the lot is perfect. Has a bar and loungers that overlook ocean. Fav spot.

Best time Ever!!

The rooms on the first and second floor were very nice. The apartment 2 bedroom with kitchenette was not as nice as expected but we didn't spend a lot of time in the rooms so it was fine. The rooms had no closets and very little storage space. The deck was perfect for our massages (that were excellent) a dance party, sunbathing or whatever it is that you want to do. We did chef services 1 day for all 3 meals and regretted not doing it the entire trip. It actually would have saved us money 💰. The best thing about the house was Ronnie who stays on the property and helped us with EVERYTHING including maintenance and security. The covered outdoor spaces were perfect for the rainy days. The pool was cleaned while we were there and was perfect for size and temperature. We were within walking distance to many restaurants and bars such as Mahi Mahi, wich is literally 3 mins away on foot. This beautiful property sits facing the Pacific Ocean and a bkack sand beach that is now my favorite type of sand. The waves were perfect for surfing but also fun just to enjoy the water. Brill

Family of 22

This was a family trip, 22 of us total, including our 10 grandchildren from 13 years to 6 months in age. Matt and Tia made sure we wanted for nothing. Tons of great excursions were arranged, some delicious chef prepared meals, pool toys for the kids, even a high chair and a pack and play were on site for us. The house is gorgeous and spacious. Every family had a private space to include our own bathrooms. The kids were in the pool every available minute. Security not only always kept us safe but made sure our golf carts were always plugged in and charged, kept the grounds spotless and even rigged some extra shade over the pool one day when he saw the grandbabies getting too much sun but wanting to stay in the water. We had Wi-Fi so we didn’t miss a beat at work. Steps to the beach for swimming and surfing lessons. An outdoor shower to wash the sand off before jumping back into the pool. Tia hooked us up with groceries, cabs, restaurant reservations and housekeeping help. Our family time every morning on the deck watching the sun come up and every evening back on the deck watching the sun set is priceless for us. None of us wanted to leave.

Cannot beat locatio

Great access to beautiful beach; awesome deck and pool; convenient to downtown Jaco. Property manager very responsive and helpful. Felt very safe at all times. Rooms are tight, limited clothing storage options. Charging of tech is somewhat problematic due to location of plugs. Could benefit from bed side tables with USB access but limited room for side tables. Minor problem overall. We had a great time at this property, highly recommend.

Amazing place for a large family vacation!

We stayed here with a family of 13 from ages 5 to 75 and it was perfect for all ages. The house is spacious with each room sitting as its own private space with private bathroom. There is even a detached little house with two of the bedrooms that has a kitchen. The indoor space is relaxing and comfortable, but you won’t spend much time indoors. The outdoor space is just incredible. There are so many spots to spread out and with a large crew you will never feel crowded. The large new deck overlooks the beach and gives a perfect view of the ocean and offers the most amazing nightly sunsets. The pool is large and very nice, a great family hang-out to break from the beach. The beach is a step away outside and the sand in front of the house is smooth. It is a perfect beach for all ages with waves suitable for all. The kids surfed every day and took lessons from the amazing surf shop steps away on the beach, ask for Josh! Restaurants right next to the house on both sides. One is open for breakfast and every meal we had there (which was many) was amazing, including fresh smoothies! The other restaurant/bar was a perfect spot for a sunset cocktail. You can also walk into town, about a 20-minute walk along the beach, and there are many more restaurants/bars on the walk and a lot in the town. We hired a chef to come most nights with amazing food and service and we felt like we were eating a 5-star meal but didn’t have to go anywhere. We all loved collecting shells on the beach, watching the macau’s fly over many times a day, spotting different types of lizards, seeing the horses ride by on the beach every day, watching fish jump way out in the water, jumping waves, surfing, swimming endlessly, playing soccer on the beach, reading on the deck, riding bikes into town, all the amazing fresh food and the extreme first-class service that came with the house. The managers of the house Matt and Tia are top-notch! They organized everything we wanted, including many excursions. They connected with us daily to ensure we had everything we needed and all the stuff they arranged felt first class. If we needed something last minute, they figured it out and made it happen. The owner Jim is incredible and great to work with. We’ve stayed at many places and we’ve never had the owner reach out and make us feel so welcome before. Overall, staying at this house was a true first-class paradise experience and we had no worries while we were there and zero complaints!

Perfection

This was the perfect place for our group. The house had everything! Surfboards, footballs, shampoo and conditioner, beach front, stunning sunsets. You name it! And to top it all off we had Grant the most wonderful liaison to ensure we had the best experience possible. It's like having your own concierge 24/7! He made sure that everything we wanted or needed was taken care of. From having beers on ice in the shuttle that picked us up, to getting us a phenomenal chef to cook the fish we caught on the fishing charter he organized for us, to getting us set up with the golf carts to cruise around in. The house has security cameras and is completely gated in with 24 hour security. They lock the house up too when no one is their for extra security. We are definitely coming back to stay here again. You'd be foolish to stay anywhere else. Not to mention the best Chili Guaros are at the bar next door and the great breakfast spot next to that!
