We were traveling for a baseball tournament, but hurricane Milton interfered with those plans. A week prior to our arrival I contacted the host about possibly canceling the reservation and he insisted that I could cancel but wouldn’t receive a refund per their policy. We forwent the tournament a decided on a nice family weekend & arrived on Friday. The property was a wreck! The grass hadn’t been mowed, the pool was a disaster (the skimmer basket was completely full & the pump never came on while we were there), the trash bins were completely full, & doing anything outside was an impossibility because of the mosquitoes. I contacted the host about my concerns and them providing the service that was advertised upon renting the property; 15 hrs. later I received a response that they were doing “all they could” to rectify the issues, but because of the storm things were difficult to navigate. On Sunday I received a message from the host stating someone was at the property cleaning the pool. We rushed back thinking we were finally going to be able to enjoy the property we rented specially for the pool, but no one was there, and the pool was still in no condition for swimming (apparently the team had “car trouble”). I contacted the host about a partial refund for the poor quality of our stay and he stated that they were “committed to making things right.” I have not received any type of refund & the host has gone radio silent & won’t message me back. Don’t waste your money!
