We Loved Our Stay At The Manatee

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at The Manatee on #3rd Ave. in Jacksonville Beach, July 24-27 was absolutely delightful. Our arrival started perfectly with your friendly property management representative being on site as we pulled in. The home was conveniently close to family on 30th Ave. whom we were visiting and the home was perfect for us 3 adults and 1 two year old. The design and layout worked well for us with plenty of room to both play, rest and eat. Plus, we loved the artwork and cool sand colors of the decor. All the essential supplies in bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen were in place (with the exception of only 1 bar of soap in the showers). The beds were particularly comfortable and we were grateful for the crib in the small bedroom. The proximity to the beach made for an easy walk to get there as well as to our family on 30th Ave. The well placed faucet and hose by the garage door made for easy cleanup from trips to the beach as did the outdoor shower behind the garage. We had some initial concerns about traffic noise from 3rd Ave., being only two houses in on 33rd Ave., but that proved to be unfounded. Upon leaving, we tried to leave the house as clean or cleaner than when we arrived. We will definitely plan to stay at The Manatee again on our next trip down to Jacksonville Beach. Thank you so much.

Overall good but HOT

The place was clean and great location. Caution with renting in the summer months though. The house can’t keep up with the Florida heat. It was 85 degrees upstairs and 79 degrees downstairs from mid-morning to evening. Luckily it cooled off a little at night and we were able to sleep. My parents stayed in a VRBO a block or two over and they had no issues with their AC so we spent time there. When I contacted the property manager he said “unfortunately that’s how the house is designed it just takes a while to cool down”. The house never cooled down from 9am to 9pm. Otherwise very responsive and a nice home.

The home is perfect for a family and is spacious, filled with light, and has everything you need for a vacation or long-term stay. We also appreciated that whenever we had a question or concern, it was addressed right away.

This house is east of 3rd and blocks to the beach, which we enjoyed walking to at night and running on in the morning. Several grocery stores are nearby including Publix, Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The home also has great fruit trees in the backyard, we had fresh limes during our stay. The home is not fancy, but it is an affordable beach house and great for two adults and two kids. The property managers are also great and easy to work with.

Wonderful Beach Cottage!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My friends and I stayed at Lancelot Castles for a 40th birthday trip. We had a few kids in tow, and everyone had a great time. The space was incredibly well appointed for all of our cooking, sleeping, and beach adventuring needs. It was a short two blocks to a beautiful stretch of Jacksonville beach that was gorgeous and serene. The waves were fun for boogy boarding and there were a bunch of interesting shells. Our stay was perfect, and we really enjoyed all the amenities!

We had a great stay. Nice and spacious inside. Property manager was super nice. We walked straight down to the beach. Only about a 5 minute walk. Close to lots of great restaurants. They had beach chairs and bikes. We would definitely recommend this place!!

Reviewer Comments: NEEDS RESTOCKING -trash bags-paper towels-toilet paper-laundry detergent RECOMMENDATIONS -provide shampoo/ conditioner in bathrooms-the baby chariot needs a new tire. It’s completely flat on the left side-wash comforters & blankets after every stay (smelled VERY musty & unclean)-clean couch (there are large stains)-caulk bathrooms (the grout is so cracked that you could have mold damage behind the shower tile at some point, if you don’t already & it’s very unappealing. Where counters meet wall) -clean bathroom cabinet doors (there was a yellow film on the upstairs hallway bathroom)-remove old food from cabinet. Some of the stuff is expired & there was an opened Oreo package in there. -fix broken fence in back yard. Looks really trashy-draino the bathroom sinks & tubs because water backs up quickly-get a pillow topper for beds. They were awful & ended up sleeping on the floor & couch the entire time-provide some cleaning products for the house in case the renters need it (Lysol wipes, broom w/ dustpan, endust)-look into what your maid service does: there was hair and dirt on the floor in the bathrooms, dead roach and roach droppings in cabinet, countertops in the bathroom and the shelving in the living room appear dirty, there were dead gnats throughout the house (like, a lot- not just 3 or 4), dirt & lots of dust in living room under coffee table

Spacious vacation

We were there to see our son who lives in Jacksonville. The rental could use some updating, such as carpet on stairs and bedrooms. The bedroom mattress were not the most comfortable but the price was worth it.
