This apartment has an unbeatable location adjacent to Galata Tower, which is central for walking everywhere. We found it very clean, and we made good use of the kitchen and compact clothes washing machine (hint: "Karma" is a mixed load of clothing). We also prepared some breakfasts at home, which was easy given the many local places to buy supplies. Beds were comfortable and the A/C cold. There are many well-stocked small groceries nearby. And many coffee shops and an Artisan Bakery underneath. There are TONs of restaurants in the neighborhood (Galata Kitchen was our favorite). (The Addis Ababa coffee shop is MUCH less expensive for equally great coffee; at the end of the selfie street). Galata Tower attracts hordes of locals and tourists alike to take selfies and stroll around, which makes it fun especially at night, but we were never bothered by noise. It's also a short walk to Istiklal Street, which is a great stroll at night. From anywhere in Istanbul you can see the Tower, and thus your direction home. The "Tunel" tram is a good way to get up the hill without climbing up it.
We saw one marriage proposal and many locals taking wedding photographs. Despite being a tourist destination, it's also a place for local people. In the morning, its very quiet and has a lot of local character; at night it's humming. There is almost no car traffic here; it's pretty much a pedestrian area.
Note: it is three flights of stairs up, yet it was great to have 3 bedrooms.
