I am very disappointed with this rental property. It had such great reviews I really wasn’t expecting the problems we had.
1. Pool was dirty upon arrival (not just leaves on top- entire bottom was dirty) and was never heated, which I paid $500 extra for. I know I was told it would take a while to warm up, but even on the last day it was still ice cold.
2. Black mold/Mildew was on the inside of the window with access to the children- who did in fact touch it. Someone came to clean it after I called to complain.
3. Right when we arrived I spilled some water, went to wipe it with a paper towel, and the paper towel came up black. The floors were FILTHY.
4. There wasn’t a single floor mat in the house, and at a beach house there is always sand, so it just wasn’t comfortable and sand was tracked everywhere.
5. The freezer ice maker was full upon arrival, and then never made more ice.
6. The hose out back had a constant drip, so there was always a puddle along the back of the garage.
7. The dryer never fully dried the clothes.
8. The upstairs jacuzzi tub had some weird green slime come out when we turned it on for the kids.
9. The queen bed upstairs was broken- so the person on the right side had to sleep on an angle.
10. Upon arrival the upstairs door didn’t have a working lock, so someone had to come out a child safety thing on the handle.
11. The AC stopped working a couple nights in, so someone had to come and repair for a couple hours one day.
12. All of the fans in the house had a thick layer of dust- they are never cleaned clearly.
13. The outdoor garbage bins were still full from the previous trip, we’re never taken out by management on garbage day. I had to tell the AC repair man and he told management, who then came and only took 2 of the bins out and then waited the entire day to put them back. They would have never been brought out if I hadn’t said anything.
This house had such great reviews and I was really looking forward to our stay. With all of the problems I was actually embarrassed that I was the one that booked the house. The management company was very responsive when I told them about these things, but I felt like I shouldn’t have had to be bringing all of these things to their attention and basically spent my entire trip with issues at the house.
