Awesome location in Wild Dunes! The condo itself needs some updating. There are clear signs of wear and tear. The bed is unusually high (for a 5' 4" person) and no stool made it a funny challenge to climb (or hop) into each night. Once there, the mattress was very comfortable!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent unit location and access to the beach and pool. The pool is large for a condo complex. Unit was nice and bed was very comfortable. There’s carpet in the bedroom that could use a good cleaning, but overall everything else was ok.

From every door and window on the back and side of the house you can see the ocean. It’s an end unit so you even have the side view. The screened porch was nice and we spent a lot of time out there. I highly recommend this condo at Port O Call F 101.

Three Strikes Your Out!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third time I have stayed at F101. Twice in 2019 and now May 2020. I am easy to please. However, we have had issues with all three stays. Therefore, we have decided to give up on F101. There seems to be a consistent lack of attention to details in keeping this unit at a proper level equal to the money they charge. When we arrived at F101 this time, I immediately noticed the thermostat read 74 degrees but the A/C setting was 70 degrees. So, there was an issue with the A/C before we got there that needed attention. There was cold air coming out of the vent but the volume was too low to keep up with the thermostat setting. The temperature in the unit stayed around 74 most of the time but did get up to 78 the last day. In the entrance area is a return vent in the ceiling. There was a noticeable noise coming out of the return vent that reminded me of an old fashioned coffee percolator. This proved to be an ongoing annoyance when trying to sleep. My girlfriend has difficulty sleeping at night so she gets on the living room couch and tries to go back to sleep. The noise from the return vent prevented her from going to sleep. So the solution is to close the pocket door between the living room and entrance area. But, the pocket door is jammed in the wall and can’t be closed. Next, the TV in the living room worked well. We could not get the TV in the bedroom to come on. Maybe it’s batteries or something else. Doesn’t matter didn’t work. Another issue is raised nails on the wooden steps leading down to the beach. Easy to snag your foot on nails raised about 1⁄2 inch. Finally, the nice 4 slice toaster only works correctly on the left side. The right side lever will not stay down so the only way to use that side of the toaster is to hold down the lever until the bread is ready. In addition, a close friend recently stayed in F101 and described it as "dirty". I thank Island Realty for the opportunity

ROACHES!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in this unit the same time last year and it was newly renovated. We saw roaches in the dishwasher last year on our last night and when we called Island Realty they said they were “leftover” from the construction and they would go away. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to stay here again this year and we saw roaches yet again. Since we were still on the island, I went and talked to Eric Stone who said it’s not uncommon to see an occasional roach unless it was an infestation of 25-50 roaches. He even claimed every house on the island & in Downtown Charleston is infested with them. We’ve stayed at other properties in Isle of Palms and Downtown Charleston and never had roach issues. He said the property was sprayed regularly by pest control and he also promised to call the Exterminators to see the last they sprayed & get back to me. He said depending on the timing of the last spray, they might could come out Thursday or Friday. Long story short, he never called/texted back, so we won’t be staying here or with Island Realty ever again. It’s a shame because we love the location, but the fact that they’ve lied to us twice about these roaches, we’ve had enough.

My Island Getsway

Reviewer Comments: I returned to Wild Dunes for what has become my annual October beach retreat i was all set for a three week get away to the Island on the day Hurricane Matthew hit the coast, the staff at Island Realty notified me immediately when Governor Haley ordered evacuation for the SC coast; also were prompt notifying me when it was lifted and I could check in. The moment I walked into my condo at Port 'O Call I knew my getaway was off to a great start; the condo was beautifully decorated and absolutely sparkled! I was in an ocean front condo and had a glorious view of the ocean, I was steps away from the beach AND a screened porch equipped with rockers completed my home away from home. I love the beach in October, I had perfect weather during my stay , blue skies during the day and beautiful harvest moons hanging over the ocean by night which Ienjoyed from my rocker on the porch . My bed was perfectly comfortable and the ocean lulled me to sleep. I enjoyed eating at the many Restaurants which are close by. My kitchen was also fully equipped for the nights my guests and I cooked in. The staff at Island Realty were so courteous and helpful anytime I reached out to them . My trip was five star all the way around, I plan to go again next year and will once again stay at Port 'O Call! I would recommend Wild Dunes to anyone in search of a perfect beach vacation!

Reviewer Comments: The AC was broken before we got there...80* inside, porch floor and furniture was very sandy.... had to clean, porch table and chair broken....Husband sat in chair and fell back hitting his head on the sliding glass door, dead roach in living room, bath room, and kitchen. This was our 26th wedding anniversary and we had to cancel our 6PM dinner reservations to wait on AC repair fixed by PM.

Only a few steps to the beach and the pool, which is perfect for kids...and trips back to the room for forgotten items. Everything is even closer than it looks in the pictures. Also convenient to parking. Unit had everything we needed and more. Shower was amazing...the kids loved it as much as we did. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this unit!
