We rented this property for three days. From the moment we entered the property we were unable to flush the toilet properly. We contacted the property manager who was very responsive and had to come to the property multiple times over the three days. Unfortunately, this issue was not resolved and finally they had to bring a truck to the property to actually provide water for us. We were unable to flush the toilet, wash our hands, or take a shower for 80-90% of the time we were there When I reached out to VRBO. I sent evidence of this problem, and I’ve had nothing but trouble from Vrbo. The owner offered a small refund, but it was nowhere close to what should have been offered to us. I spent most of my vacation time worrying and stressing over being in a property they did not have basic services. When you rent a property and pay over $300 a night you expect to have electricity and running water. The property itself is beautiful, but it is in a remote location, and if you have any issues whatsoever, don’t expect them to be resolved. I am extremely disappointed in VRBO, and will never rent from them again. The fee that you pay VRBO gives you absolutely nothing in return. I sent videos and multiple emails with evidence of us having no running water and yet still, VRBO has not resolved the issue. When I returned to the United States and continued to try to address this problem, VRBO now tells me that it’s been too long and they are washing their hands of this because “policy” was not followed. I did everything in my power by contacting the property manager, the local rental office, and ultimately VRBO. Good luck on this one. And if the owner writes back and says that he sent us a refund, yes that is true. He sent us a small refund but we had six people staying in the property and in my opinion and we deserve 100% refund because everyone deserves running water. When you reach out to VRBO as a back up when you have not gotten full satisfaction from the owner, you will not get any help from them.
