"This is not a place to stay for light or sensitive sleepers. It is across the road from the town's clocktower which strikes every hour and chimes every quarter right through the night. The hotel clearly recognises the problem because it leaves earplugs, which are ineffective, by the bedside. "Went to Clacton on Sea to visit family and stayed one night at this lovely hotel. The owners were unbelievably friendly and have been in business since 1963. I’ve never seen such a beautiful clean bathroom and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels. The breakfast was included and was unbelievable homemade with such an incredible amount of items to choose from and delicious. Apparently the owner cooks it up himself. .
