"A minor mistake made while booking turned my experience into a complete nightmare. Because of my dyslexia I booked Friday night instead of Saturday night (made the booking the night before, on Thursday). I got an email on Friday asking me how my stay was going, and I realised a mistake had been made. I then spent three hours (!) on the phone trying to resolve the situation, going round the houses. I had booked the room through Expedia because of this, neither the hotel nor Expedia wanted to...

"A nice size room, comfortable bed. Tea and coffee, and a small bowl of boiled sweets. A couple of packets of individual biscuits would have been nicer. Breakfast was continental, a mixture of small boxes of cereal, toast. There were croissants but they were cold and to be honest looked like they had been there a while and little cakes. We would go back as it is so convenient, plus we love Burnham 🤗"

"Relaxed, friendly vibe, nice touches eg offered to take our bags up to room, help-yourself fridge full of cold water in reception, decent fans in room ( very welcome in hot weather)"

"Being from the hospitality industry, I am not easily wowed but I have to say, the staff and service was wonderful, genuine and warm. Clean rooms, comfy beds, all expected amenities working and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. I stay here whenever I'm in the area as there's always a warm welcome."

"Beautiful guest house …very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms, lovely and clean, with mini bar …and they little details in the rooms like Disaronno liquor ….a little Italian restaurant situated downstairs. Maldon is a beautiful village, with little shops and restaurants just around the corner, I would also highly recommend Mrs Salisburys for food & service too which is just around the corner on the high street. Parking is also available. "
