"Sparkling clean and very spacious with gorgeous waterfront view. We were in Driftwood. We appreciated the amenities provided, the clear instructions on check in and out as well as the tips provided. There are wonderful breakfast options nearby and while we spent most of our time in Bar Harbor and Acadia, we appreciated being away from a busy downtown. Just note that from the more popular Acadia attractions, this is about a 20 min drive. Road noise wasn't too bad, we used the fans and ran the AC...

"We had an amazing week hiking in Acadia, enjoying Bar Harbor, and on the water. The house is on the outskirts of Bar Harbor and we enjoyed the quiet location. We walked into town a few times but mostly drove since there is no sidewalk and it requires walking on the side of the road, but it was easy to get in and out. The house is dog friendly with a small yard. Overall, this was great and we would stay here again if we return to Bar Harbor!"

"Location of the house is great! Everything in bar harbor is walkable and it’s a quick drive to Acadia. The house is well stocked. My only small criticism is that some of the appliances and the mattress seem pretty outdated, so I say 4.75/5. I loved all the bird themed decor :)Thanks for a great stay!"

Convenient for activities in SouthWest Harbor or for a short drive to Bar Harbor. Hosts were very polite and responsive for any questions and made our stay pleasant & hassle free. "

We liked being together wish we could have spent more time together but kids have jobs and pets to get back to. "Our family decided to do a trip to somewhere in the lower 48 as our family Christmas present. We each put two choices of places into a hat and the last choice drawn would be where we'd go! Bar Harbor was the winner and it was a group effort to plan our visit! I researched where to stay and the Chickadee was the perfect choice. Great location to BH area and Acadia. We had everything we needed. Steve does a wonderful job thinking of everything travelers could need, especially those flying from...

"The Gate House was great. Three full bedrooms and baths were more than adequate for our family. The property was clean and the well stocked with everything we needed. When we needed some addition bath items the staff were very responsive and accommodating.You are a 5 minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia is right around the corner.Having parking available is priceless.I would highly recommend the Gate House "
