  • Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. large vintage home in historical Ironwood Michigan. The Hemlock is ready for entertainment with family and friends . Access to all recreational ATV/UTV snowmobile trails, plenty of space for utility trailer parking. big private back yard with fire pit and grill for cooking out and relaxation. front and back porch and entry mud rooms to keep gear dry and safe. steep steps entering house use caution when stepping in and out. The floors are original and somewhat rustic and haven't been completely refinished, bring a pair of house shoes or slippers for personal comfort. Not your typical modern high class place, but comfortable and affordable, some modifications are in process with plans to keep home as original as possible pets are welcome. you'll receive Wifi password and door codes early on the day of your arrival after texting the host.

The home was so convenient to everything. The area is Sensational and has some of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen This home is perfect for all four seasons!

Like the neighborhood we grew up in

We enjoy staying at the Hemlock house because it reminds us of the neighbors house when we grew up and it's a comfortable place to relax.

A very cute house that reminds you of grandmas. It had everything we needed for our stay. Location is excellent for accessing the many area activities.

Perfect for a cabin feel

It was great, close to the snowmobile trail, the driveway fit our 4 place Inclosed trailer so that’s definitely a plus

Great time in Ironwood

We had a great time staying at this rental, and the host was very easy to contact if we had any issues. Spacious and very comfortable bedrooms. Will stay here again next time we come back.

Overnight stay

The home is as described, has everything you need for an overnight stay. Wes is easy to communicate with. This is my second time staying and will definitely be back again!

Cozy, old home

We stayed a short time but I enjoyed it. The house was very old and definitely had character but cozy. The property manager would respond immediately if I needed anything. Would definitely go back.

Worked great for our needs.

Owner was accomodating and responded to our questions immediately. Yes, house and furnishings are older, as can be seen in the pictures, but it was a decent value. We liked having the space over a hotel room, and being able to bring our dog.

Since my review keeps getting denied I will have to put this very nicely . Stay somewhere else . The home is NOT equipped to sleep 6 people . I do not trust the host as far as the said “damage” report after my stay . Terrible experience. Unfinished floors are dangerous with bare feet . I was scolded for leaving crumbs in the sink … At night you can hear rodents chewing at the floors and walls . Hotel is worth the extra , definitely! Literally anywhere else .

Perfect for our stay

The Hemlock House was perfect for our stay. This is the second time we've stayed there, and will again the future. Wes' instructions were clear and easy to follow and he responded to my communications immediately. As advertised and as others have mentioned, it is not a fancy place but is clean and comfortable. In other words, everything we needed for our ski trip to ABR. Thanks again Wes!

Pleasant repeat stay

We stayed for a week last summer at the same property, so we knew what to expect. The owner continues to be very helpful, friendly, and communicative. It's not what you would call a modern or deluxe place, but it doesn't have to be. It's a lot like staying at the house of your aunt or uncle or some other relative - it's a place where you can relax and live and take day trips from. That's what we wanted, and it's what we got.

Comforts of home in beautiful, natural setting

We had a great time at Wes’ house in Ironwood, MI. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere with many laid-back activities, like grilling food for dinner and watching movies at night while munching on popcorn. It was a quick drive to the beach at Lake Superior. We hiked a nature trail one day, and went to town center for food, coffee and farmers’ market. Loved the quiet and serenity of the north woods. Bed was extremely comfortable. It had everything we were in search of to get away from the noise and stresses of the city. We would be delighted to visit again!
