Beautiful house! Everything has been recently updated and thoughtfully appointed. With our family of 8, it was nice to have two large hangout areas inside. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Family vacation

The house was a great size for our family and we had great weather. The house was spacious and was able to accommodate our family. There were great amenities like kayaks, a grill, and outside games. We did bring our boat and were told there would be a hoist for our boat in the water but it was broken. We were able to tie our boat to the dock with no issue however. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this home.

Wonderful location and a beautiful home

Perfect home for our family to spend a week in northern Mi. Loved the lake, location, and comfort of a home with a well-stocked kitchen, children’s games and amazing assortment of lake toys such as kayaks, floats, paddle board. Highly recommend this lovely home and the host who was very responsive to our questions and needs.

Burt lake

It was nice but could use some maintenance. Bedroom and bathroom doors would not shut for privacy. Dishwasher not screwed in tight and needs a handle on it. Dryer not working properly. Furniture could use a cleaning. Overall it is a beautiful updated place right on the lake.

Wonderful!

We all absolutely loved this home on Burt Lake. It has all the conveniences. Each of the bedrooms were clean & comfortable. They had toys for the kids too. There was a beautiful view from the kitchen/dining area. The table & chairs on the deck were used each day. The village of Indian River had everything we needed too. This house is located only 30 minutes from every stop we wanted to make on our trip. I definitely would recommend this home and would stay here again. Lovely home & spot on the lake.

Relaxing lakefront vacation.

This property is newly remodeled, clean, well stocked, and able to accommodate a large extended family. It's located on a very large, clean, and fun lake. Two sitting areas, one up and one on the first floor give everyone a seat on a couch. There are many things to do in the area, including paddling the Sturgeon River, playing golf, shopping in town, visiting Mackinac, dining out, boating the Inland Waterway. The lake bottom is rocky, so wear water shoes.

Burt Lake Vacation

Wonderful vacation rental - 5 star property inside and out. Stayed with 3 other couples, had ample space for our group and rental was very clean. We and enjoyed the many amenities including kayaks, paddle board and corn hole. Close to boat launch and nice deck areas - would book again.

Wonderful!

The eight of us had a fun and comfortable stay! The house and lake are beautiful and the home was full of special touches like shampoo, conditioner, hair ties and more! Our stay had the feel of a luxury vacation with all the comforts of home. We loved the fact that we could all sit together comfortably inside or out. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Very nice property! We only had one issue and that was no wash cloths! Someone had left wet towels and stuff in the dryer and it was smelly. There was also stuff in the washer that didn’t smell any better. We did buy a few washcloths and left them there.

Fun Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay here. Water shoes are needed as the beach is very rocky and can cause cuts on your feet. There isn't a dish washer, so paper products are needed for meals. The cottage needed a good vacuum/ sweep and cleaning, but was well equipped. The owner was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We would definitely come again.

Perfect Family Retreat

We stayed at Stephen’s property for an up north family vacation. The property was as described. There is plenty of space outside to hangout during the day and night. Very close to downtown Indian River which is perfect if you want to rent a boat or grab a bite to eat. I would recommend his home to anyone looking for a relaxing up north vacation.

2021 Burt Lake Stay

The location is great & cottage cute & comfortable. I was surprised that the cleaning crew did not clean fridge & there was leftover food from previous renters. The owners obviously stay, as there was little room for our items in cupboards & closets, etc.

Could have been better

We felt like intruders in someone else’s home. An awful lot of personal items in the home and not sure where to put our stuff or what was there for us to use. roof leaks in 2nd story so playroom not useable after the Tuesday rain. Cob webs on all the lights and not sure what switches work with what. Owners clothing hanging on hooks an under beds etc...probably will not rent again.

Great Summer Family spot

My family, Sister and Husband, and my mom all stayed here for a week. The week had great weather, except a few HOT days, but that’s where being on a lake was so relaxing and nice. The house had great amenities, and entertaining spaces for us adults and an infant. The afternoons didn’t have a lot of shade in back, o I’m glad we brought a canopy so the baby could hang out under there. Thanks for a great stay.

Great lake house!

This is a wonderful spot for a family vacation! The property is just as advertised and the location is great whether you want to hang out all day at the lake or explore the surrounding area. Our kids loved playing in the lake, and the kayaks and paddle board were definitely a bonus. A few comments / suggestions: -If you're visiting during the busy season and are interested in renting a boat from a local marina, it is best to book as soon as possible. All the places we checked were booked all week, though we did get lucky with a cancellation and were able to get one during our week there. -As noted in the description, this house does not have air conditioning. This wasn't a big deal for us as there was really only one day we would have wanted it. The nighttime temperature was great for sleeping with the windows open (even got a bit cold some nights). -The lake is very clear and the water temperature was just about perfect for us in late July. The depth is good for kids, but the bottom is pretty rocky so I would suggest having water shoes. There's not really a beach on the property for kids to play on (kind of a steep drop from the yard to the water), but there are some nearby public beaches if you want one. The yard is a good size for hanging out and playing. -The kitchen was well-equipped. The coffee options were a Kuerig and a french press, so be prepared if you want coffee (we bought Kureig cups). -Grilling option is a charcoal grill (and conveniently had a charcoal chimney). -There are a lot of kids toys, games and DVDs, and also some adult games. The upstairs area was perfect for the kids to chill out and relax. -Great sunsets! Several evenings of enjoying the sunset and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. In sum, a great option for an "up north" vacation!

Perfect for families!

House is right on the lake. So nice having access to kayaks and paddle board. Kids loved the bunk room. House does not have A/C and you really don’t need it. With the windows open you get a nice breeze off the lake.

Lakeside Paradise!!

We rented this home on the lake for a girls get-away....with the kiddos:). The home is nearly exactly as pictured! We arrived a little early and the cleaning crew was still there but allows us to put some of our grocery items in the fridge...then we checked out Indian River until the check-in time. The sunsets from this home are spectacular! The kids loved swimming in the super clear lake every single day we were here! The house had nearly everything we needed...though we didn't spend much time inside! There were plenty of patio chairs outside to accommodate our group (5 adults and 5 kiddos). We are already looking forward to coming back next summer!!!

We did have a great time on Burt Lake. Our only issue was that we could not keep boats at the property. We had to get slips at Indian River Marina and then had to drive to and from wherever we wanted to go boating.

Perfect winter getaway
