Iglesia de San Juan Nepomuceno

The pilgrim church of St. John of Nepomuk is situated on 'Zelená hora' in the Moravian town of Žďár nad Sázavou. Built in the 18th century, the church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage site list in 1994.

Unfortunately it's closed in mid January, and the weather didn't help much, but I'm sure it would be better during the 'tourist' season. I shall return to view it properly!

Havlíčkovo Náměstí is the main square in the Moravian town Žďár nad Sázavou. Whilst it looks nice with the snow and the tree, this town isn't particularly photogenic. There are many buildings from the socialist era, which are not exactly architecturally inviting. Still, it's a decent place to stop if passing, especially to visit the castle and UNESCO inscribed St. John of Nepomuk church.

In recognition of its unique value, the whole complex of Pilgrimage Church of St. John of Nepomuk at Zelena hora was placed on the prestigious UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage in 1994.
