Purple Rain Purple Rain!!

You don't need to be a Prince fan to stay in this cozy cabin! It's perfect for a couple and their dogs! Great location!! probably the best location in all the cabins we have stayed in up here. About a 20 min walk into town which is really nice! Great neighborhood to walk the dogs in very friendly. Highly recommend.

Purple Rain home

Great lil place close to town just as described our fur babies loved exploring the gated yard. Family enjoyed the record player and instruments we had a great time. Easy check in and out and friendly property team. Couldn't ask for more we will be returning. Happy Memorial day y'all.

For looks only.....

The cabin looks exactly like it's advertised on the website. The issue is everything in the cabin that you're supposed to use for creature comforts. The chair, the sofa and the bed are awful! Neither the sofa or the purple chair are comfortable to sit in. They are hard as a rock and the purple chair has no back support so you can't sit back in it to enjoy a TV program. The fireplace smoke comes out onto the room instead of going up the chimney. The whole place reeked of smoke. There's no updraft in there for the fireplace to work properly. It really should have some kind of insert in there to make it work better. The that is beyond worn out, it's very lumpy. Uneven, and the pad has no cushion what so ever. You will have an awful night's sleep in that bed. The location is great and the place looks exactly like the pictures. We don't recommend this cabin for comfort.

Wonderful little get away

Loved staying here! My partner and I had a great weekend in Purple Rain. Close enough to the main town while still feeling like we could enjoy the peace and beauty of being away. We loved the record collection and being able to take advantage of playing the guitar and piano. The hammock was so comfy to get a lay in and look up at the stars. Our dogs loved being able to sniff around the backyard and enjoy the environment around us. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals at home too. We’d absolutely come back and stay here again. I would definitely recommend!

Roomy for dogs, gathering spot for grouo to meet

Carpeted, two spacious rooms great for dogs! Yard safe but small. Wonderful view out front windows. Piano a plus. If you don't mind a some odd diy aesthetics but LOVE open indoor space, location, and dog enjoyment, this is perfect. Seems like an ideal gathering spot for groups of friends who are staying elsewhere, because there's massive seating indoors/full kitchen and fun outdoor pavilion for big dinner parties -- yet sleeping for just 1 or 2. Awesome gathering spot! I preferred my last stay here more because it was summer so I didnt have to struggle wuth the AC or various heaters. It is very cold in here in winter because place needs to be insulated (if i had thought to use the fireplace we would have been less cold). I used a lot of blankets! I do wish the owner didn't use a management company because you have to go into the office for checkin 4 pm and checkout 10 am plus fill out extra forms online first. Probably not an issue for others, but I prefer self checkin. Also the dog fee seems excessive if the tenant is responsible and clean like me and my pup. Still, I'm always happy to pay extra when the 6 foot fence is real wood and not chain link (too much wildlife here for me to feel safe with chain link and an athletic dog). All in all, I am happy with Purple Rain and love the Prince vibe!

The purple room was amazing

We booked this stay last minute but the price was amazing. When we arrived it was the cutest cabin. The yard was covered in snow it was like a wonderland. We parked and go inside and the color purple is my favorite personally and it was a well decorated cabin. The bookshelf was a favorite as well. We appreciated the 3 ringed binder as it had everything we needed and more. We found great food and places to try our hands at sledding. The fire place was magical and the AC runs an very comfortable 72 degrees. This place was more than we could have asked for and plan on returning next winter. Maybe even before this winter is over. 5 stars if I could leave more I would

Purple Rain becomes downpour

Beautiful location, but not comfortable. No comfortable place to sit and relax. Couch is actually a futon and is hard as a rock. Side chair is for looks only. Bed is a full, too small for the room and for two older adults. And the fireplace puts more smoke in the house then up the chimney. All our cloths ended up smelling like campfire. Tried to shower off the smoke smell and the water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle. Will not recommend this property to friends and family.

Unsanitary!

The setting is cute but the cleanliness standard sent us packing. Upon going to bed I checked the sheets like I always do. I bring my own just in case the ones provided aren't fresh or have other issues. Well these sheets were obviously slept in!!! While changing the sheets I was horrified to discover a filthy urine stained (in multiple locations) mattress. It was late so we tried covering it with whatever we could find. There were only old blankets and a mattress cover that didnt fit this bed. We used our sheets and our car trunk blanket. Needless to say we were out the next day. There were other issues like only 1 washcloth, 1 handtowel and 1 dishtowel for a 5 day stay. The place didn't have a few bugs it had MANY of different kinds. I got bit up and the ants distroyed any food left on the counter. They did recently put some A/C units in but they couldn't keep up with the heat wave. Somebody else said it was too cold in the winter. If the cabins doors and windows and other openings were to be sealed this would help keep in the A/C in the summer and heat in winter as well as keep the bug population down. I'm sorry I couldn't say anything nicer but it was a pretty bad experience and we lost a day of our vacation. On the other hand New Spirit Vacation Homes went above and beyond to save our vacation. I cannot recommentd them enough.
