We had a wonderful family vacation here, with all five of our kids and our dog. The cabin was super fun and cozy, the puppet theater was a big hit, as were the fireplace and hot tub. Thank you!

It was an awesome place. Perfect for our family! Beautiful, spacious, close to town, and a great place for pretty walks and hikes. We took our two kids, their spouses and 6 grandkids. We had a fun, memorable weekend. And I was amazed by how many games you have there!

The house was spacious and had an amazing view. The outdoor areas were phenomenal, and the kids really enjoyed the jacuzzi. The fact that it was pet friendly was also a major factor in our decision to book.That said, the home felt very dated. Several family members commented that the bedroom pillows “smelled old,” and overall the house appeared a bit worn and not in the best condition. There was also some type of watering system that turned on around 5:00 a.m. and was extremely noisy.

Amazing home, stunning views!!

This place is amazing and perfect for families. The outdoor space was spectacular, the kids ages 6 to 11 spent hours playing and exploring. The views are absolutely stunning, we can't wait to come back at least twice a year!

Idyllwild getaway

The property was as described with a great location and stunning views. The kids loved all the space the home offered, and took over the media room as their sanctuary from the adults, which was a win win. It was a great place to relax and enjoy time with family.

Off the beaten path, just outside of town and so lovely! The layout of house is perfect, we had 7 people and plenty of space. Outside has all kinds of hidden gems, like the outdoor daybed, puppet playhouse, hammock and a grass area that was perfect for us to sit and have morning coffee. We would definitely come back!

Beautiful Views!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house had plenty of room for us and the dogs! The property is large and feels very private! Kathleen was very responsive which we appreciated.

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend at Lookout Lodge! A beautiful home with stunning views. Lots of space to move around (3 levels). Outdoor hot tub, ping pong table, and another “chilaxation” area under the deck. We will be back again next year!

Relaxing, fun, beautiful

A little of everything. Huge garden to get a break from the noise. Well stocked kitchen. Beautiful porch with panoramic views. Easy drive into town. Already talking about when we will be back

We stayed here with a group of 6 adults and 4 kids and had a wonderful time in Idyllwild. The location is excellent, the house size was perfect for our large group, and we absolutely loved the beautiful views and outdoor space.However, we were quite disappointed with the cleanliness and maintenance upon arrival. The house was very dusty and dirty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned or visited in a long time, and we had to wipe down most surfaces ourselves just to feel comfortable. A few of the pots and pans still had grease and stains on them. The downstairs room felt dark and uninviting, and we completely avoided using it after lifting the covers and having a bug fly out. Lastly, while we understand rodent traps are common in mountain properties, there was an exposed trap placed right in the main living area under a chair where our young kids were playing, which felt unsafe.We still managed to have a great family trip, but the poor upkeep when we arrived was definitely off-putting. With a deep clean and better attention to detail, this could easily be a 5-star property.

Nice property but needed more attention to details

The property was nice with great view. However, not as organized and clean as expected. the kitchen condiments and plates very unorganized and run down. Bathrooms and towels were very old and no shampoo or conditioner left to be used. Downstairs bedroom very cold. Property had big rooms and bathrooms and overall comfortable.

Lookout Lodge

The house is spacious, well stocked except for table knives (only one), has wonderful views, close to the town, pleasant neighborhood, large interesting multi level property and very hot water. Had a very pleasant time there with another couple and our pets.

Cozy yet spacious

We had a great family getaway in the pines! Positives: spacious, comfortable beds, very clean, inviting living room with fireplace, sooooo many board games, movie room with extensive dvd collection, quiet area, responsive host, spectacular views! Cons: the only con I can think of is that the kitchen is not super well organized or stocked- but that might be because we are a family of cooks. It does have all the basics one would need to cook a great meal, just don’t expect a gourmet kitchen.

Fun & Funky

We were a group of long time friends ~all women. Great location, quiet neighborhood. Large house with good sleeping arrangements. The place is old and things a little tired, but overall quite accommodating & comfortable. The host is a terrific communicator! Thanks! We enjoyed our stay!

Great place for a family reunion

Great location; spacious with enough seating areas to allow for privacy and also for entire family activities. We loved the view from the deck and enjoyed bird watching.

Pleasant Stay at Lookout Lodge

We were a group of 8 women for annual women's retreat. The views are beautiful and plenty of space. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen layout is great for group meals but there definitely needs to be some updated pans in the kitchen and some of the cupboards are falling apart. The stove is pretty old and one of the main burners only worked on high. We did a lot of cooking so this was somewhat of an issue. Not major flaws but should be addressed for a rental that caters to larger groups. The owner James was very nice in our communication.

Good Property

The Location of and view from this property is amazing! The only issues we had were lack of cleanliness of the interior of the home and yard. Inside is In need of a deep cleaning. Every plate, glass, utensil we tried to use needed to be washed before use. Bath towels were stained and smelled so musty we washed those prior to use also. The exterior/yard has the potential to be incredible but it is cluttered with old potted plants and is very overgrown, in need of a good yard cleanup. there were also numerous bottle caps, straws, ribbons etc all over the yard. Took my kids and grandkids on this trip and we had a great time.
