Really pretty getaway spot!

The dome was a great spot for our friend group pups to visit. It’s a short drive/walk into town, the view is incredible, the layout/space is really unique, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub wasn’t cooperating for our stay which was a bit of a bummer, and there was a little more non-Vrbo paperwork than expected to lock in the rental, but overall I’d strongly recommend for those considering visiting.

Dome-estic Bliss

Thanksgiving at the Dome will forever be a part of our family story. Everyone loved the great views, the open living room gathered around the fireplace, and the hot tub. Many Thanks to Monica and the Vrbo staff for making our vacation special…and easy!

Beautiful outdoor location

Good: Beautiful view and cute outdoor spaces. Well stocked but missing some items including coffee. Property manager very responsive to fix problems with house. Bad: Property manager forces photographs of credit card and license and to sign an extra contract, none of which was REQUIRED when booking and they use an unvalidated system to store these so they need to add it to the property description. Tiny grill. A lot of items are broken like toilet seat cover, ripped leather couch and stairs, fridge did not work on arrival and spent hours with them to fix it. Acoustics carry all noise from downstairs to upstairs so difficult to sleep if people are awake.

Unique and comfortable house

We enjoyed this house - the unique design and gorgeous views were the highlights! The house is very comfortably set up; we were particularly impressed by the well-stocked kitchen. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the scenery as well. The location of the hot tub is amazing! We couldn’t get the living room TV to work, unfortunately.

Beautiful home and location with some caveats

We enjoyed our time here. The Dome is iconic and thoughtfully planned with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the majestic views of Idyllwild from the comfort of your residence. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked, nice selection of board games and movies, and the internet was fast and reliable. We enjoyed each of the several patios depending on the time of day and activity (food vs. relaxation). It’s hard to describe how well placed it is— you get beautiful views of Idyllwild all around the property. The sunrise and sunset across the valley are beautiful. 🌅 It is also quite central, near all the necessary amenities and trails. Really great location for exploring Idyllwild from. The property does get very warm however as the sun is hitting it from all sides. There is a portable A/C unit that we were able to pull out of the closet and it did a pretty good job keeping the main living space reasonably cool, but it never got above 85F when we were there. I'd imagine that in the dead of summer the little guy might not keep up. There was a nice breeze in the evening that helped bring down the temp, but did not reach the bedrooms upstairs. Also the beds were very uncomfortable, most of the beds sag to the middle making it especially difficult to sleep with a significant other. We had a pretty hard time sleeping well to be honest so that made it much harder to enjoy ourselves. A few other things to be aware of: 1. The walls are paper thin, and the dome shape enables noise to travel easily making it also hard to sleep. One if the bedrooms is actually a loft, which was the worst. 2. The windows are not private, even the bedroom and bathroom windows have no curtains. 3. For the upstairs bathroom, the lock works but the door can be pushed open anyway. 4. The upper patio table wobbles by 3-4” hard to have a meal on it. 5. Driveway is very very steep! More easily approached from the right, but a loaded car will still have trouble going up. Plenty of space to park at the top though.

This was a amazing getaway. The house is beautiful.

I have nothing but great things to say about this rental. I took my husband for his birthday weekend along with our great friends. The view was astonishing and just breathtaking. It is a big house with plenty of beds we Also rented the additional bungalow so plenty of room for about 14-16 people. It had everything you need. Well stocked with towels, toiletries. The jacuzzi was ready to go when I let them know I was going to use it. Monica the manager was very responsive which is a big plus. The location is great. It is close to the village with so many things to do. I could not have been happier. Great rental.

The Dome

We arrived in Idyllwild just as the roads got very slick from snow and ice, so be sure to have a great set of chains or 4 wheel drive during the winter months as The Dome is uphill! The views are remarkable, especially from the hot tub! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need for cooking. This was a great house for 3 families that love playing board games and hanging out together! Be prepared for togetherness as sound in The Dome carries! The folks at New Spirit Vacation Homes were very helpful!

Great unique spot!

We had a really nice time here. It's very peaceful and the view is beautiful. Great kitchen, lovely hot tub area, and there was plenty of space for 8 people+1 dog. Like the other reviews mentioned, when it's warm definitely bring along a bunch of fans to cool down the space. There is one A/C unit but it's not enough to cool down the whole dome. We had issues with the unit for the first day but they came out and fixed it. Thank you, I look forward to returning again.

Quick Mountain Getaway

Had a wonderful time in The Dome. Spacious and amazing views. Some areas are aged and could use some tough ups but exceptionally well stocked and the views and location greatly outweigh any deficiencies in up keep! Fully enjoyed our stay

Such a lovely spot with a magical feel to it! The walkways are steep and rough I would be worried bringing kids or elderly people here but it was amazing for us!

Great views

The location was very nice as the dome is one of the last properties on the hill. It’s a really neat property featuring great views when outside and even inside the house as there are large windows around the main living area. All kitchen essentials were there which was great. However, many of the bathroom towels smells like mildew, and there wasn’t a broom which made the floor quite dirty with all the wood being brought in for the fire place. These were not huge issues but the lack of heating was a bit inconvenient. There were only three space heaters that could only be used in the downstairs areas as directed because of the outlets. Due to this, the upstairs bedrooms were very cold. We had to have the fire going all day in order to warm up the upstairs area. We also contacted management a few times and although they answered the calls, they did not call us back, as they said they would, with the info requested. All in all, it was a nice place and a nice stay, but for the amount of money per night, these things mentioned should have been better.

Dome stay

The house was fine, a large space. The hot tub was a lot of fun & a great view. I’d suggest a light up there as it’s a bit hard to get to after dark. It was unfortunate to find the AC unit would trip the breaker after 5 minutes, so we couldn’t use it during summer temperatures . When we called the management they told us to check the breaker, it happens often. Upon check in we found out the dishwasher was broken, which was fine but caused a bit longer at check out to wash all the dishes and the check out wasn’t really flexible. Overall, the house as is would be better for fall or winter visits.
