I really hope this review helps others who look at this location. We will probably stay again. We rented 2 yurts during the week, for an extended family trip. There were 9 of us. While one person at the resort told me the experience would be like glamping, another employee called it "camping style" accommodations. I want to make sure you understand what you are renting so that there isn't any misunderstanding.
First, there is no electricity in the yurt and the small battery powered lantern they provide, gives little light, so bring a high powered flashlight or lantern if you want to be up past sundown.
Second, you can hear the highway at all hours of night so if you sleep well to white noise, you will be fine, however, it was noisy when initially falling to sleep.
Third, you need to walk down snow-covered paths to get to the bathrooms. They are heated however, and have running water plus electricity. The yurt does not.
Fourth, we could not get the wifi to connect in our yurt because it was too far away from the office. It was fine when we were in the bathrooms.
Lastly, there is no outside alcohol allowed but you can purchase it from the office.
Most importantly, the heater works really well. Our yurt was perfect but our 2nd yurt got way too hot even on the lowest setting. Not the worst problem to have in the winter but make sure you understand how to turn the propane heater on and off before the office closes.
In the end, a good experience.
Hope this is helpful!
