A wonderful, lean and well-appointed lake house that we keep visiting because it’s so charming. Perfectly located on the lake with its own beach. The host is friendly, fantastic and on top of everything.

This was our second stay at An Old Lake House and we were happy to be back. Beautiful lake views and fun on the beach were a great way to cap off the summer. This classic lakeside house is lovely and comfortable, and starting to feel like home!

Adorable quaint lake house

We loved our stay here!!! We brought our kids for the first time to Cedar Point and the location was absolutely perfect to get back and forth to CP. You can even see CP from the beach in the distance across Lake Erie, so so pretty at sunset. You are literally right on the lake! Book this property you won’t regret it. We LOVED it!!!!

Love the Lake!

This comfortable, inviting house had everything we needed for a relaxing stay at the lake. Our family spent as much time as possible on the enclosed porch, deck and beach to enjoy clear summer days, beautiful sunsets and pretty cool storms over the lake. We look forward to visiting again.

Another magical stay

The lake worked its magic again on this, our 3rd stay at The Old Lake House. Such a comfortable property with a fine patina and such gorgeous views and breezes and so lovingly cared for.

Family getaway at the beach

Great views of the lake, it’s a wonderful beach for small kids. It stays shallow for a long way out. Love the outdoor shower.

Relaxing!

We had a great stay. Everything you need is there. Even a pack n play and high chair! It was a perfect location to get down to the beach quickly. We had a lovely time!

Quiet Lake Stay

Loved sitting in the living room or on the porch or in the kitchen and looking out onto the lake. We enjoyed our quiet stay … the house was exceptionally clean, the kitchen well supplied with useful things. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant.

Annual long weekend

This was our 3rd time staying at The Old Lake House and we just love it so much. AND now we can play pickle ball too lol! We have already booked for 2024... we love this place and Patty!

Old Bicyclists; ride, eat, swim

Charming old house with a lot of character. Clean, well maintained, with complete kitchen. Great for bicycling with smooth backroads with little traffic. Good beach for swimming. Overall; "Great!"

Great getaway

Such a cute lake house painted in retro colors taking you back to a quiet quaint time before all the modern minimalist makeovers. Very spacious and lots of sitting room! Right on the lake.

Location can't be beat!

If you're looking for a Lake Erie getaway in an established beach community, this location can't be beat! A charming, historic house with a ton of amenities and amazing access to a private beach. Patty was very communicative and easy to work with. We will be returning.

Always wonderful

This was my fourth stay at An Old Lake House, and it was as wonderful as ever. The house is so comfortable and well equipped, and the owner is super responsive when unexpected problems arise. The lake provides a fine backdrop for both play, rest, or reflection — whatever you choose. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Just a Great Spot

Loved it. Great location on the lake itself, as well as being situated between Sandusky and the towns to the east. Host was easy to communicate with. House was clean and ready. Great experience overall.

Old lake house stay

Absolutely beautiful views. Weather was slow to accommodate ( first few days were chilly) . We still had 3 perfect beach days. We've stayed multiple times in this house through a few owners and always have a Beautiful and peaceful stay. Thank you

Old bikers enjoy Old Lake House

Old Lake House has a lot of character and charm. Well equiped kitchen and access to good bike riding roads. Nice outside dining table and lake level picnic table. New shower facility was a hit with our group. Nice and quiet after labor day.

Great location and treasure of a house

This is our second year staying at An Old Lake House after 7 years at another location. It is really wonderful, especially if you like funky, eclectic (we do!). Everything is supplied with the house. Very comfortable. Clean, quiet, and on a beautiful lakefront location. We will return!

Cozy Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a two day getaway. It was so clean and had everything you would need. The house has lots of room and the views can’t be beat. There are plenty of sleeping options if you were to bring a larger group. The house is 100 years young and has so much character and the decorating makes it even more magical. The beach and benches in the community park are wonderful. I would highly recommend. Great house and wonderful location.

5 star views

This was a beautiful place for our family to meet for a small reunion (5 adults over 50). Exceptionally clean throughout the home. We enjoyed playing cards in the sunroom, making meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and enjoying the nightly sunsets. The quaint charm of older homes does has its limitations…the modern conveniences are not always readily accessible (1 shower on the first floor, and navigating stairs and rooms for bathroom access on the 2nd floor). Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Lakeside Retreat

We had a lovely week staying at An Old Lake House! The location was close enough to enjoy Cedar Point and other local day trips, but also far enough away to enjoy a peaceful lake experience. We loved hearing the waves crash and feeling the lake breezes on the sun porch. The kids swam in Lake Erie just down the hill from the house. We recommend the Marblehead lighthouse tour and taking a ferry to one of the Lake Erie Islands. The lake house had everything that we needed to prepare for our day adventures and was a lovely retreat for our vacation.
