Our group, mostly retired military, stayed at this beautiful home for a three-day bass fishing tournament on Smith Mountain Lake, and overall, we had a great experience. The location was absolutely perfect, directly across from the tournament ramp, making it incredibly convenient for us. The house itself was spacious and well-kept, and we could tell it was a lovely home in a great spot.We are a group that stays at 4-5 VRBO properties each year, so we’re familiar with the level of quality and attention that many owners provide. This house was somewhere in the middle for us—definitely not the worst, but not the best either.Positives:The house is in a fantastic location with plenty of room for our group.Spacious and well-decorated, making it a comfortable place to relax after a day on the water.The property manager was responsive when we had an issue with the electrical problem.Room for Improvement:Linens were provided, but the blankets were very thin. If you tend to get cold at night, I’d recommend bringing a heavier blanket, as each bed only had a sheet and a thin blanket. I also couldn’t find any extra blankets in the house.Some of the closets were locked, which is fine since we’re used to that, but there were more locked closets than usual, which left us with fewer options to store our things.On our first night, two of the rooms lost power, and despite inspecting the electrical box, the power wouldn’t come back on.
