We've had 5 stays at SML and this property was by far the best. The house is well-organized with all the comforts of home. The kitchen is thoughtfully appointed for group stays with 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and ample cookware and servingware. There is enough space to gather, and spaces to get some down time and privacy when needed. But, the best part is the outdoor space -- the dock, firepit, patio, and wrap-around porch were all enjoyed by our entire group. Beyond the home, Kylor and Susan were ideal hosts: super communicative and responsive to questions and needs. This property will be at the top of my list for all future stays at SML.

One of the Best Trips we have ever had!!!

Gorgeous lakeside retreat

Stunning views, peaceful mornings; stargazing; hot tub; gorgeous backyard; swings; outdoors; lake sports; fully-stocked kitchen; linens provides; family time; indoor and outdoor games; smart TVs; fire-pit; loaded boat dock and more - this property has it all!!! Highly recommend if you want a secluded and peaceful yet fun getaway with your family or friends. And as a bonus, the owners are so friendly and responsive.

Amazing even when it's cold

We stayed over Thanksgiving and had a great time in this gorgeous house with our family. We definitely want to come back when we can take advantage of the amazing lake. Amazing outdoor space

We enjoyed this property so much for a 50th birthday celebration. We were all first-timers to SML and it was beautiful. Interior was clean and well-decorated with a nicely renovated kitchen. Outdoor space was SPECTACULAR!

What an Awesome Vacation!

From start to finish, the experience with this property and host was nothing short of 5 stars. Hurricane Helene had us calling a vacation audible four days before our kids fall break, and kind of found this place by accident. However, we’re so glad we did! Host is super kind, and responsive to questions very quickly, and genuinely wants you to relax and enjoy your stay. The property is beautiful on the listing, but the pictures don’t do it justice - you have to see it in person. Sunrises from the dock with a cup of coffee make you want to get up early each morning! The kids loved the game room and outdoor games, there’s plenty of space inside and out to spread out. It was our first time to Smith Mountain Lake, and already seeing when in 2025 we can return.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

The boat dock along with the canoes, kayaks and paddle boards provided a great variety of water activities for the family and relaxing atmosphere of sitting on the dock early in the morning with a cup of coffee, priceless! The updated kitchen is amazing and very functional when preparing food for the hungry family members. Suggest you provide the option of having the dishwasher running with remaining dishes when leaving rather than having to have dishes dried and put away. Avoids having to hand wash and dry all while packing up to leave on time.

Fun and relaxing retreat

Beautiful views. Comfortable accomodations. Great bunk room/game room for 4 cousins to hang out. Our family of ten, ages 8-73, spent our days on a pontoon boat tubing, going for ice cream and riding the beautiful lake to the boardwalk for the arcade & great pizza. But most of our time was spent at the dock house jumping into the clean water and cooling in the shade. We cooked evening meals on the gas grill and s’mores at the fire pit at night. If you are looking for a place to reconnect with your family this may be the place for you.

Fun Spot 2 Is THE Place fir Family Fun

This is our fourth stay at Fun Spot 2 and we all had a fabulous time. Between tearing around the lake in our rented boat towing Big Mabel, to kayaking, fishing, or taking the paddle boats out, the water was pristine, warm, and totally refreshing. Their new kitchen was fantastic with enough space for everyone! We unquestionably recommend it for a fun and memorable family experience.

Another amazing vacation at the Fun Spot 2!!!

This was our second year at the Fun Spot 2 and we were not disappointed! They remodeled the kitchen since last year and it was absolutely gorgeous. The amenities and the aesthetic are incredibly high-end and luxurious. When we arrived, we noticed that the dryer was out of service. We contacted the property manager and he immediately called me and offered to personally come and pick up any laundry and dry it at his place and bring it back. He was so generous and accommodating to help make our trip fantastic. The dock, outdoor spaces, and location are what really make this our favorite vacation spot on SML. You cannot beat the views from every spot outside, whether that is the hot tub, fireplace, hammocks, dock, or the many paddle boards and kayaks available. When it rains, the inside is equipped with multiple smart TVs, a gaming area, ping pong, and lots of cozy reading spaces. We will definitely be coming back again and again! Thanks for another fantastic year!

A magnificent mountain lake experience at SML!

Our family of 11 (6 kids and 5 adults) enjoyed a terrific fall weekend of relaxation at the Fun Spot 2. The lake and mountain views from the home are breathtaking! And outdoor spaces and offerings at this home are amazing! The boat house swings and hammocks were cozy places to relax. We enjoyed roasting hotdogs and marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace. And the hot tub offered warmth and relaxation after jumping in the chilly lake. The biggest hit of all with our large family were all of the outdoor water toys! My 6 kids had the best time making great use of the kayaks, paddle boards, and canoe. There were more than enough boats, floats and life vests for everyone, which made playing on the water so much fun! The wraparound covered porch on the home was my favorite place to sit and drink my morning coffee as I watched the fish jump in the lake. When the kids arms tired of paddling outside, they came inside for ping pong tournaments. The Fun Spot 2 is aptly named. It absolutely was a SUPER FUN SPOT to to make wonderful family memories at a beautiful location.

Perfect Rental for Smith Mountain Lake

Family vacation at Smith Mountain Lake for 9th year and running. Fun Spot Two is a great location on the Lake. Property is excellent. Kylor is very responsive. We have stayed at many upscale homes and this one ranks at the top.

Great Home for Vacation

We had a fantastic week staying at this home. It is the perfect location for a fun week at the lake. Loved all the lake toys, the chair swings, the hot tub, the fire pit, the porches and the cleanliness of the house. It worked out perfectly for our annual vacation!!!
