October stay, unfortunately rained most of week. Owner greeted us on arrival and gave tour/instructions on how to find everything. Perfect for couple retreat and fall proved to be quiet time. Unique was a great way to describe property and definitely worth doing. Owner is focused on the details, like fresh flowers in each room and kitchen, and plenty of water recreational items (if it wasn't 55 degrees and raining it would have been fun) and cabin appointed properly with period style accessories. Well done!

Awesome property! Charming, comfortable, amazing lake view/access. The owner was communicative and meticulous is helping visitors enjoy the home -- clearly identified light switches, well equipped, and clean. We had a wonderful time and are considering coming back in the warmer weather to take advantage of the lake and all the available gear (kayaks, canoe, rope swing, slide, outdoor grill, and fire pit)! Enjoyed our morning coffee each morning with a quiet, beautiful view. Highly recommend!!

We had a Fantastic weekend staying at the cabin. Dave and Carmen were wonderful to communicate with from the time we reserved, the questions that we had along the way and were very welcoming at check in. The work and detail they they have done to the cabin and property is amazing. They thought of everything and then some extras to be sure a Great Time is had by all, right down to fresh flowers in mulitple rooms. We will definitely be looking to visit there again.

Loved the trees and shade. I love the sun but this is perfect with shade. Fire pit fishing / boat dock . I found myself relaxed as you should be on a 3 day trip. Also they have a lot of essentials. All you need to bring is food. / Fishing stuff if you fish. They have all. I loved itThank you DaveCWOLFE

Probably the most accurate listing on Vrbo. Our stay was perfect in every way.The property is a legit cabin and clearly a labor of love by the owner. He has thought of everything right down to every counter-top appliance imaginable. The views are amazing and the peace and quiet is unparalleled. If you need a mental reset, this is the place.

We had a fantastic time staying in this old log cabin. There are LOTS of amenities and the property is absolutely beautiful. We cooked using the outdoor kitchen and only used the outdoor shower. The porch is facing the lake and it’s so peaceful just sitting there listening to nature. The host was very nice and the check-in/check-out process was quick and easy. Make sure to go down the slide and jump from the swings into the lake. 10 out of 10 and would definitely recommend.

We have stayed here now twice and will keep coming back! It is small but just perfect for the four of us and even our two dogs. The cabin is extremely clean and organized with all of the necessities you can think of. The decor makes it very cozy. Great sandy beach area to enter the water, awesome dock, and tons to do with all the lake essentials.

What an amazingly unique experience!! We loved it so much and can’t wait to come back. The hosts have literally thought of everything. We even made friends with a duck couple who came back multiple times and our son named them Jerald and Tiffany! Thank you for a truly memorable weekend!

Perfect stay, they’ve thought of everything!

This property checked all the boxes, even the ones we didn’t anticipate! Super clean, so unique, wonderful location, and friendly, helpful owners! We appreciated all the thoughtful touches—fresh flowers, plenty of towels, and toiletries. The house decor is really lovely and the A/C works great! All the lake gear you could want, a well-stocked kitchen, and your own dock for fishing. We used the grill and outdoor kitchen both nights and napped in the LR hammock. Jumped off the swings, tried the slide, and our elderly dog even swam in the lake. Thank you for a perfect getaway!

Nothin' fancy and that's great!

While there are fancier and more modern accomodations around Smith Mountain Lake, there are none nicer than this. It's like visiting an old family cabin that you've been to all your life. The owner is very friendly as well. Our 2 boys, 8 & 13, had a blast on the dock, slide, swing, canoe, kayak and paddle boards. Never a bored moment! Convenience to the State Park, as well as Parkway Marina where plusses as well. Definitely will return in the future!

What a lovely place to stay. The care that's been put into the cabin and surrounding property makes it a place to relax and get away from it all. There is a lot of water toys to enjoy...kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boat, floats. The beds are comfortable, the outdoor kitchen a joy to cook in, but the best part is the outdoor shower.
