Location Location Location
We had a great time. The property is very family friendly and you can’t beat the location. I strolled down to the beach with my cup of coffee in the mornings. It only takes about 2 minutes. The kids enjoyed digging for hot water and swimming in the little river which is all a few hundred meters away. The communication with the owner was easy. We highly recommend this property.

Relaxing stay on the beach
The house is in a great location. Short walk to beach and cafes. We enjoyed digging our hot water holes at low tide and meeting so many people on the beach.

What a view!
Great vacation stay. Our boys really liked staying upstairs. The view from this property is amazing and we could not get enough of it. House was furnished with everything we needed for the stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing location
The view from the terrace is amazing! It’s just a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed every minute! The only thing we didn't like so much was that the hard-to-reach places were quite dirty.

We will be at the bach ourselves next week, and I will have a chat with our cleaner. she has been doing our cleaning for some years now. Haus ist super ausgestattet, hat eine großartige Lage und definitiv Wohlfühl- Charakter Leider war bei uns der BBQ sehr unsauber und die Kommunikation hätte besser laufen können (keine Antwort auf Nachricht)

Charming family holiday house

Fabulous location at hot water beach
Amazing location overlooking hot water beach, and a very short walk down to the beach. Lovely outdoor space for kids to run around, and for adults to enjoy the beautiful birds. We had plenty of space for our group of 6 (children, parents, grandparents), comfortable beds and the kids enjoyed the sleeping loft. Kitchen was well equipped. The house could use a good deep clean (especially the bathroom and bed linens), but overall met our needs for a place to stay on short notice.

Lovely house with stunning views
Booking the property was straight forward with prompt and clear communication. We were delighted with the wonderful views overlooking hot water beach. Comfortable for 6 of us including 2 young children. Great to be so close to the beach for the hot pools and quiet evening strolls. Kitchen is well equipped and beds very comfortable. All enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous views from cosy home
Relaxed, comfortable home, with a true NZ bach vibe. Queen size beds downstairs were great. The view is something else… just beautiful! Kitchen is well stocked. Toilet is in the bathroom. Books and games were available, and much appreciated. Cafe down the road is great too. We had a lovely stay!

Wonderful House at Hot Water Beach
Dieses schöne, gemütliche Haus ist wunderbar gelegen am Hot Water Beach. Es ist gemütlich eingerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Der Kontakt zu den Besitzern war sehr nett und der Check in war einfach. Die Lage ist perfekt, um in Badesachen zu den heißen Quellen zu laufen und sich dort ein Loch zu graben und im heißen Wasser zu liegen. Der Ausblick ist traumhaft. Das Haus bietet Platz für 7 Personen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft.

Loved the location! Very easy access to the beach and hot spring on the beach. Amazing views from the property. The property met all our needs. Even though it was was cold and gusty outside, we really enjoyed our stay inside staying warm.

Wonderful location and view , house is well appointed.
House has everything one could want, well stocked kitchen, appreciated the knives being nicely sharpened. The view of hot water beach is absolutely amazing. Only detraction was that parts of the house were fairly dusty, greater overall cleaning needed in the lesser used areas. Enjoyed our stay thank you :)

Fantastic stay at Hotwater Beach
Our family loved our 4 night stay at Taumata Beach House. It was one of our highlights of our NZ trip. Lots of room, amazing views from deck, short walk to beach and shop, quiet neighbourhood. I appreciated the dishwasher and laundry too! So many books and magazines… this place is full of years of love. We hope to stay again next time… thank you for sharing your bit of paradise Carol & Lane!

Quintessential kiwi bach experience - with awesome views
We enjoyed the traditional 'kiwi-bach' feel of this place. It is dated, but in a homely, comfortable way that made it easy to relax and unwind. It was well equipped, and the location would be hard to match! We found the hot water (thanks to the spade provided) at low tide directly in line with the first big rock at the far end of the beach. It was about 30 cm down. Hope that helps others. Thanks :)

Great location: needs a deep clean
We had to cut our stay a day short because the level of dust/cobwebs caused an allergic reaction (something that had never happened before!). Kitchen was clean and toy area was cute. Just all quite dusty. If you’re not worried about that, this place is nice. Porch is gorgeous with super easy access down to HWB.

We have never scored only 3 stars before either. We are sorry you had an allergy. We have booked a cleaner to do a "deep clean" We stayed at the bach ourselves the week before you and we did not have a problem.

Fantastic location with magic views
Only a short walk to the beach and cafes, this old school bach has an unbeatable location with spectacular views. The owner is lovely and very helpful and the property is equipped with everything you might need. The lawns were long and a broken umbrella attached to the deck looked a bit shabby but this may have been due to Cyclone Gabrielle.

Stunning Views and Perfect Location
Overall, we had a great stay at this little beach house. It was nice to be able to walk down to hot water beach and the cafes. Our 3yr olds loved the little play room. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the upstairs room was very hot even with the windows open which we tried to avoid because of bugs. There was only one fan in the house and I think there should be a few fans in the house especially a couple for upstairs.

The portable fan is usually upstairs, and there is a wall fan on the staircase. There is also a wall fan between the 2 bedrooms which we believe can blow out cold air. Can’t beat the location or the hosts
We were there during Cyclone Gabrielle and the communication from Carol was amazing. She, and the whole HWB community, went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and had everything we needed. The bach was warm and the view was amazing. Location perfect. Definitely recommend Taumata bach.
