A better experience than we could ever have hoped for. The house and location are gorgeous with lots of deer sightings. The kitchen had just about everything we needed to prepare all our meals. We stayed for a week and still didn’t manage to take advantage of all the amenities offered (fireplace, outdoor fire pit, boardgames, etc.). Located extremely close to the northern end of Lake Moomaw and the Hidden Valley Recreation Area. The gate on the front porch allowed our pup to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets with the family. We had no cell coverage in the area but the WiFi on property was extremely fast and reliable (better than ours back home!)Already eagerly planning our next trip here.

Everything about this property was just as advertised. Clean, comfortable, cozy, peaceful, and private. Really had everything you would need for a multi-day stay. Having a rack of free firewood was the icing on the cake. We spent hours sitting by the firepit enjoying the fall scenery and watching the cows stroll around across the road. Plenty of things to do nearby, boating and fishing on Lake Moomaw, hiking, horseback riding, and we really enjoyed the wine tastings at Rock Roadhouse Winery in Hot Springs. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is it! We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you very much to our hostess, Beth Rogers.

The cottage was clean and communication was excellent. The only problems were the internet and cell service was almost nonexistent. Also it should be noted in the ad that the trail to the cottage would be best navigated with an all wheel drive vehicle.

Quaint, clean getaway property. More than a little off the beaten track, but once you get there, it's quiet and well equipped, but for the TV. Internet is spotty at best and is in need of an upgrade. Cell service is hit or miss as well. Cows in pasture across the road is a bonus.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It’s so peaceful and quiet- makes for an excellent getaway. While we did lose power due to storms one night, it came back rather quickly and we were able to continue our fun. The cabin is not far from the warm springs pools and there’s no shortage of outdoor adventures. The host is very accommodating and even provided flyers of events nearby! We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back.

Great place for a getaway

Would be nicer in the summer

Place is way way off the beaten track. Didn't like that I had to go to a property manager to get paperwork with door code. It was out of the way, as I was supposed to go to Covington and it would have made the trip longer to go past one of the routes to the place, for a door code. Used to having door code on site with all the information. Lovely house, but internet is very very slow and couldn't watch anything but DVD's. It is close to the lake, so summer would have been much better. If you are looking to un-plug this is a great place to do so. The cows across the road, where fascinating to watch. Beautiful area.

Would want to stay a month!

Great place to get away from stress. Very clean. Well stocked as far as utensils and cooking items. Difficult to find without a map and GPS comes in and out and signage is limited and confusing if you are not familiar with the area. Would have preferred a map included with written directions. Would have also liked more directions to get to restaurants in the area (we had menus but limited GPS coverage). There are very few unless you get to Hot Springs and the Omni. The Omni is incredible. Grocery stores are limited so plan ahead.

Lake Moomaw weekend

We went so one of us could swim the Lake Moomaw 1 Mile Swim. Great house, we had 4 adults and loved the porch and fire pit. We cooked breakfast each morning and had ample room for drinks, lunch food and snacks. We grilled one night. Very convenient to warm springs, Lake Moomaw, a river to fish.
