My family enjoyed this property for our summer vacation. The home is at the end of a quiet and quaint cove. The lake views from the spacious patio were fabulous. There were plenty of areas to swim, fish, and enjoy the water. The property owner was very friendly, responsive and accommodating. Family Vacation

This property was perfect for our family of 10. The lake is right in the backyard! The upper and lower porches are wonderful-we even saw a double rainbow from there! Lucas is very quick to respond to any questions. The Dollar Store and convenience store are right up the street. Perfect for anything you need. The resort passes were awesome to have. Luke was very responsive. The website description is accurate. The house was very clean and had all of the basics. Hiking and scenic drives were nearby. The back porch was great even in December. Beautiful view of the lake. Gas station/convenience store and Dollar General very close for forgotten items. Kitchen adequately equipped.

Beautiful property right on the lake

My family celebrated dual birthdays while on our long weekend vacation and we could not had chosen a better place. The view of the lake was wonderful from the front porch while we sipped coffee every morning together. Our 93 year old mother accompanied us and was able to get around quite nicely on her walker on the main floor. Thank you for a relaxing time on Barkley lake.

Family getaway

Family weekend at the lake! This was our second time renting from Lucas! Everything was just as he states and we enjoyed every minute! Rented one of the pontoons for two days which was an added fun time and convenience for a lake stay! Will certainly be back!

So much space!!

We had a family trip with the grands. Age range 10-71. There were 9 of us and plenty of space to eat/sit together and time apart for privacy. Beautiful property with so much to offer. We rented a pontoon with a slide, kayaks and horseback riding! S’mores at the firepit by the lake. Wonderful views of the lake on the huge balcony that is the length of the house. Hosts are very accommodating. Wonderful times had by all

Beautiful lake views, great family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our family gathering for Spring Break! Lucas is an amazing host. Breathtaking views of sunrise and sunsets. Nature surrounds as we enjoyed seeing a fox, cranes, eagles, loons and more. Even caught a few fish right off the dock. Made many family memories with kids and grandkids. Thank you!

October 20-25th 2023

The home was as described except for the extras. Upon arriving, as soon as you opened the door, the smell of cedar was all around you and the view was BEAUTIFUL!!! The downstairs freezer was stocked with a bag of ice. There was plenty to watch on TV with the Roku. The fishing was great and I caught 4 nice size catfish, and several bass, including striped bass and small mouth bass. The trees were in full color and loved watching the cranes, bald eagle and otters from the main floor deck. We took our golf cart and enjoyed driving around the area and hit the Dollar Store several times when we needed anything and it was just a few blocks down to it. There were games and playing cards provided and did I mention the fabulous view??? The sunrises were breath taking!!!! Lucas was awesome to deal with and we will definitely be back!! The beds were very comfortable as well! Thank you again Lucas for everything!!

Vacation 2023

We have stayed at this home for the last 3 years and the home is large enough for our family. We love the location on the water and the dock that we can bring our own watercraft. The house is always clean and Lucas is super helpful and quick to respond when needed! We appreciate the nice appliances and the grill because we do a lot of cooking while there. We always bring a folding table and chairs because the table there does not accommodate us all. There are 13 of us and ages range from 1-76. This is the 5th year we have rented from Lucas. We look forward to many more vacations at his property.

Awesome week!

Absolutely loved our stay. The house was great and the location was perfect for what we wanted. We had 10 adults and 3 young children and we just wanted to spend time together and get a lot of lake time in with our boat. This place delivered. We had access to several docks for our boat including a covered one and the cove was perfect for setting up a float pad to let everyone have fun in the water. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all the basics and we were able to grill out and have bon fires every night. Communication with the owner was great. We needed a couple things during our stay and came up with some questions and he accommodated us promptly every time. Thanks for everything.

Family gathering

The property was close to Hwy 68, but far enough back that there was no road noise. Walking distance from the Dollar General and gas station. Plenty of room for us to spread out and plenty of beds. Kitchen adequately stocked, even for preparing "big" meals. The mist on the inlet in the morning was breathtaking!. We grew up in the area, so know that Cadiz is not an entertainment center, but we came to enjoy each other and visit extended family. We'll be back!

Amazing views of lake and terrific host!!

It’s hard to imagine a better location for lake-gazing, relaxing, and boating. My husband and daughter had a great time kayaking (available from Lucas) and swimming, while I spent most of the time simply enjoying the location. We were only three—four, but the house is huge and perfect for family get-togethers and writing groups, offering plenty of privacy as well as great spaces for everyone to get together. Lucas was a perfect host—he even found a way for us to stay an extra night next door when we had a key glitch with our car. It’s not a criticism, but a word of guidance: The kitchen is sparsely equipped, so if you plan on cooking anything but the basics and/or for a crowd, bring a large frying pan with you (and of course whatever spices, etc. you need.) When my friend came for two days near the end of our stay I alerted her ahead of time, she came equipped and we made two fabulous meals together. On the other hand, if you only plan on minimal cooking, it’s fine!!

AMAZING FAMILY VACA!!!

The area was really nice and quiet. The floor plan is soo spacious. Every morning I was amazed all over again at the amazing view from the back deck. Everyone loved the easy access to go fishing and boating! Lucas was very pleasant and offered quick assistance if needed. Needless to say were planning a repeat next year! Thanks!!!

Perfect!

We had a lovely girls retreat. There were 7 of us and we each got our own bed! The house was spacious and clean and full of light. There were so many windows with lake views. We had amazing weather and so enjoyed watching the lake while visiting on the balcony. I loved the rustic style with all the wood and the smell of cedar was wonderful. Four of us rented kayaks and really enjoyed our excursions on the lake. It was all so very peaceful and perfectly fit our needs. Definitely keeping this place in mind for the future.

Wonderful Lakeside cabin

Thanksgiving Getaway

Lucas owns more than one property in close vicinity which is ideal for large group gatherings! We rented 2 houses and cooked a big meal and met together for our Thanksgiving meal. We had family from South Carolina and all over Illinois! Lovely trip. Beautiful property.
