Unique Experience that didn't disappoint.

My wife and I had a great 4-day weekend and wasn't disappoint with our choice of accommodations. Love the dingy experience and location. We were close to everything but at the same time enjoyed the complete privacy of our own island. Thank you, Karen.

Week in the Abacos

We stayed eight days at this property and truly enjoyed our time. Robert and Karen, our hosts, are always there if you need them but never intrusive. It is only accessible by boat so a dinghy is provided and you can park your golf cart right across the way as opposed to in the town center. The house was exceptionally clean with really good AC and a comfortable feel.. There is a nice little pool to cool off in and a screen porch to keep the bugs away. One of our better vacation rental experiences.

Perfect Bahamas Vacation

What a glorious and relaxing stay we had at Gully's Nest! We loved the quiet location, away from the main road but quickly accessible by the dinghy to where our golf cart awaited. The property had ideal docking for our rental boat as well. Gully's Nest was warm, inviting, and comfortable, and our hosts were so kind and hospitable. Thank you for welcoming us into your home!! We hope to return for another visit!!

Awesome

Karen is a wonderful host and has such a great personality and wonderful heart!!! She was exceptionally accommodating and treated us well!!! Her husband Robert is a great fisherman and we were able to but fresh fish!!! Their dog Riley was an added bonus and came to visit us a few times a day. We would definitely come back here again!!! Thanks for everything Karen!!!!

Perfect Paradise

Pictures just don’t show how beautiful and perfect this place is! The hosts, Karen and Robert, are the most wonderful people you could ever meet. If you want the real Abaco, then stay here! The included dinghy was great for hopping into Hopetown or across the creek to our cart. We always rent a boat and docking on the creek at their beautiful docks was wonderfully easy. The yard is secluded and you feel like you are indeed in an exclusive paradise. We felt completely at home in the house that had everything we could want and the flowering grounds and pool outside our screened porch were wonderful! Such a treat when Robert picked some bananas off their trees for us; and urged us to take as many as we wanted! Being dog lovers it was an extra bonus to meet their dog Rollie; a lover so well trained that he will leave you alone, wagging his tail and hoping, but not approaching unless invited. We are already planning to return!

Amazing place!

Easy Living

Absolutely loved the house, the quiet surroundings, and Karen and Robert were extremely helpful. We enjoyed getting a bit more of a sense of a local flavor by getting away from the marina and meeting folks at the dock as they cleaned their fish. The house itself had everything we needed - great place

Best decision to stay here!

You won’t regret taking this stunning location. It’s water access only, but you get a little boat to head into town any time you want (3 minutes by boat may be exaggerating how long it takes!). The pool is awesome as well. Super refreshing. The lot is so private. The birds sound beautiful there and the limes from the key lime tree are delicious! Do follow Karen’s advice to do the following: 1. Take a cab from airport to marsh harbour 2. If you have time, stop at Maxwells and get your groceries. Get as much as you need and have them put it in boxes. It works!! Stop and get beer or wine as well. 3. When you get to the ferry at marsh harbour, load your stuff in a wagon and bring your stuff to the dock. They will load everything on the boat for you. 4. When you get to the last stop LODGE DOCK, karen or Robert will meet you on their boat. You literally hand your bags and boxes of food over the side into their boat. Once on property, your stuff gets loaded into a golf cart and driven up to your place. That was soooo easy!!! Charter Robert to take you fishing. He knows these waters and you will have a great time! (This is from someone who is anxious on the water!) You are in good hands with Robert and Karen. Enjoy your time there. You won’t regret staying here!!

Awesome stay!

Loved loved our stay! Thank you Karen and Robert for your hospitality. Great location - perfect for hopping around Abaco with the convenience of Hope Town. Definitely book a fishing charter - Captain Robert was awesome! Highly recommend!

Great Stay

We had a great time at Gully's Nest. This was our 4th trip to Abaco in 8 years (3rd time in 4 years) but our first visit to Seagull Cottages. The house is in good shape and is bigger than I expected from the photos. The five of us (one on an air mattress) had plenty of room. In addition we hosted two dinner gatherings for family and friends of at least 10-12 people with no problem. On of the the dinners was a fish dinner with fresh Mutton Snapper thanks to a fishing charter with had with Robert (Karen's husband). The pool was clean and a nice treat to have after spending the day on the water. Karen, Robert and their family live on the property and are good people, very helpful, but not intrusive. You can see them as much or as little as you want. Karen was a big help in resolving a problem I had with a golf cart rental. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the cottage, and will rent there again when back in Abaco. A reminder that the house is only accessible by boat, which was no problem for us, but must be considered when renting.

A memorable family vacation

This was our third trip to Hopetown and our first taking our kids. Gully's nest was the perfect setting for much needed rest and relaxation for the parents. The boys (14 and 11) enjoyed the daily hammock retreat, shot some hoops on the basketball court and jumped in the pool to cool off from the days adventures. The dinghy was especially nice as we got to cruise around the harbour with not a care in the world. Karen and Robert were such gracious hosts and we even got lucky and reimbursed Robert for some fresh caught Grouper. Apparently he is a fishing legend in these parts! Karen could not have been kinder and made us feel right at home. We hope to come again and stay again....We miss Gully's nest already!

Best Vacation we've ever taken

We LOVED staying here! Karen and her husband Robert were wonderful to work with. The rental house was secluded yet right in the middle of everything. Just a 5 minute boat ride into town using the dinghy that came with the rental! The house was perfect. Clean. Fully stocked kitchen with all the necessities for cooking our catch of the day. Waking up and sitting on the front porch drinking coffee, laying in the hammock reading a book, taking a dip in the swimming pool after a day on the water, and the perfect dock to tie up our 30' boat at night. Highly recommend, you won't be sorry, book it NOW!!! Cant wait to get back there!

Great place to stay! Very peaceful & accomodating.

We stayed three nights here and had a great experience. Very peaceful and quiet. No complaints at all. Quick and easy access to all of the amenities of Hopetown. The owner was very friendly and welcoming as well as helpful to any of our needs with luggage, directions, and transportation. We highly recommend this listing and would not hesitate to return.

Simply The Best

I can only repeat what others have already said....and it's all good!! Karen and Robert are just about the nicest people you could hope to have as your neighbours and owners of a rental house whilst on holiday. We were met off the ferry, taken to the cottage, shown the ropes with the little boat provided and within a couple of hours of arrival, Roberts brother showed up with a huge red snapper for us....it was still alive! That was supper taken care of. We knew we had found a great place. The little boat provided was 100% easy to use for first timers like us and it was fun scooting around the Harbour in it and tying up at docks which are everywhere for use. Having the swimming pool to ourselves was a luxury for the price of the rental and everything you could possibly need at the cottage was provided. We loved our week here....thank you both...Linda and Mike

Perfect Hopetown Seclusion

Robert & Karen: I wanted to thank you both for such a special stay at Gullies Nest with our family and for your wonderful hospitality. With my back problems, we would not have make it staying anywhere else or with any other hosts. It is truly the perfect place in Hopetown. Mr. Lowe's Panga ride was the only pain free part of the long trip home all the way to checking in to the Mayo Clinic emergency room. The back surgery went very well and I am almost 100% and ready for another visit. Mary Elle has a new appreciation for pineapple but cannot find any as good as your's. We look forward to seeing y'all again when the boys come home next summer!

Amazing property!

We stayed here for 12 nights and it was terrific. If you want something a little different this is it. Basically it is only accessible by boat, which is why the property includes a dinghy with motor to go back and forth across the creek. You can also take it into the harbor for restaurants & groceries. It took us a while to get used to it, but it was fun. Karen & Robert are wonderful people and great hosts. They are available if needed & are like walking history books on the island & the local waters. The property was exactly as pictured & described on the website. It is close to town, but removed enough to be very quiet at night. Everything was clean and worked well. We would definitely recommend this property.
