"This place was amazing! So clean and SO creative. Lots of cute frog-themed touches. They definitely put heart in to developing this oasis. Definitely arrive in the afternoon if possible so you can enjoy the property. The waterfalls and creeks are gorgeous! Be sure to eat before you arrive or bring food, as nearby options are limited. "The entire property was magical--such a peaceful and serene area. I truly enjoyed my stay at the Owl Nest. The property was equipped with everything I needed, making my experience completely comfortable. One of my favorite details was how, by opening all the curtains, you feel almost as if you’re sitting outside. "The host greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our space. That evening there was a cockroach in the kitchen area that went under the cabinets. The next evening the cockroach was going along the wall near the ceiling around the room. I made the host aware and never received a response. When walking outside and to the vehicle, be aware of spider webs between the trees. There are quite a few eye level that we had to duck and dodge to not hit. "

"The state was very quiet and soothing! Would highly recommend staying here to see the north side of the big island! It was my third trip and I wish I would’ve stayed here before. You are close to food, gas, and other needs. There are three different lookouts over the pacific for wonderful sunset views as well only about 10 to 15 minutes away. Great hosts, will stay here again for sure."

The view was incredible from the golf course, seeing the shoreline wake up and glitter in the sun, while sitting on the shaded balcony as the golfers rolled out each morning. We played lots of pickleball (located conveniently across the road from the condo-30 second walk) along with the private pool. "Enjoyed our stay in Waikaloa Village. We usually stay closer to the beach, but the Village is really a short drive. Nice neighborhood for walking/ shopping/ eating before heading to the beach. Quiet pool and hot tub area. No worries that the living room area doesn't have AC. Temps were pleasant and the AC in the bedrooms was a plus. We would definitely book this property again :) "

"I am a repeat guest from 20 years ago and found it to be just as charming and bucolic as I remembered.This is the "other Hawaii" where peacefulness and quiet prevail. The animals in the pastures are the backdrop along with amazing views of Maui. Chris couldn't have been a better host, and a joy to talk to.His love of this area is obvious and contagious.Get away from the resorts and get out to the country.This is the best way to do it. "
