Very nice house. Clean and comfortable. Weather was to cold to walk outside but if it was nice, it would have been fun to walk around see all the animals.

Oh my, did we have a wonderful weekend at the Modern Farmhouse! It was a perfect place to have Christmas with our two daughters, their husbands, and their little ones. The house had everything we needed. I was especially grateful for the Christmas tree to place our presents under, the large sectional, two dining tables, and views of the animals out every window! The friendly spotted pig was our favorite! Memories were made that we will cherish forever.

Wonderful stay. It was clean, well decorated and cozy. Snowed 6 inches overnight and the host cleaned off our car and had the driveway plowed by 8am. It was so considerate. We loved visiting the animals and the peaceful country setting.

What a wonderful stay we had at Neil and Deda's beautiful farm! Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience for us and especially for Sasha! This was her absolute favorite place to stay out of the 6 places we stayed at during our Midwest exploration trip! If you have kids that love animals, this is the place to go! Neil and Deda are the most welcoming hosts, amazing with kids, and just wonderful people! We miss you guys already! Not to forget the well-tended, beautiful farm and the house we stayed at - with fun artwork, aesthetically and artistically pleasing, clean, stocked with water and ice, comfortable beds and bedding, and not to forget the scenic and serene views of the greenery, as far as the eye could see! The location was also great - close to Kalona (an Amish town about 30 minutes away) and to the Amana colonies (10 minutes away), which were both very interesting to explore and get some shopping done. We also enjoyed the Thursday night live music that Neil and Deda host during the summer at the outdoor portion of their wedding venue on the property. Thank you again for a great stay! We would love to come back!

Fun family farm

What a treat for our family of 5 to be able to stay in such a comfy/organized/extremely clean farm. Every view outside this homey/warm house is a striking panorama scene. You can see all the animals from the windows in the house! All the animals were so clean/unique/social! Neil made us a fire and brought out a cooler of refreshments!. Also we spent time walking through the amazing wedding venue. So much to explore at the farm. Can’t wait to stay again. Neil and Deba are one of a kind with their nurturing abilities with animals and humans. Thank you so much for much for creating the best family time ever!

Girls Christmas weekend

It was so quiet & peaceful. It was really great to stay at a farm with so many animals around. Perfect size for the 3 of us. The Communication from the just was the best! We had some bad weather and they made sure to check on us and see if we needed anything, I’d stay here again!

Fun Experience!!

Cute shabby sheik house with animal friends everywhere you look! We enjoyed sitting out front feeding berries to the chickens and peacocks:) Really laid back animals who want to hang out with you. The house was clean and the beds were great, I slept like a rock! Fun experience!

A Serene Escape: Unforgettable Family Memories

Our stay at Deda and Neil's property was truly exceptional. The peaceful and beautiful vibe of their space, combined with their accommodating and attentive hospitality, made our visit unforgettable. Witnessing the realization of their dream in creating this space and wedding venue was incredibly inspiring. This was my second stay with them; my first visit was a girls' getaway organized by my sister. We enjoyed nature, picked fresh flowers, and savored fantastic wine from the Amana colonies. I knew immediately that this would be a perfect little getaway for my husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and me. My daughter loved it so much that she was sad to leave. She adored the friendly animals, and our family walks around the serene property were a highlight. Deda's fresh pastries were a delightful treat, and the house was well-equipped with board games that provided additional fun. Deda and Neil went above and beyond, providing us with fresh eggs from their chickens and quails. Their thoughtful and caring approach made us feel as special as family or friends. The property was immaculately clean and beautifully maintained. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful retreat to everyone. It is a place where core memories are made, and the warmth and hospitality of Deda and Neil make it truly special.

Funnest BRBO ever!

Stayed here while visiting Amana. We were as excited about the VRBO as we were about Amana. It did not disappoint. Beautiful view, lovely house and bonus animal entertainment. Deda and Neil were great. We also enjoyed Thursday Throwdown at their venu next door. Yummy whiskey sours with mix from there berry farm. Had to take some home. Will definitely stay again if we ever go back.

Great location, fabulous hosts!

Great location to the Amanas. House was well stocked with all necessities and beds were very comfortable. The animals were a hoot and the hosts were the kindest we’ve ever had at a VRBO. They showed us around the property and the beautiful wedding venue they own.

A lovely place to stay

We loved our stay at the farm. Deda was so kind as was her husband. The animals are really cool. We live on a farm as well with most the same animals so it was kind of like being at home. We loved the free range peacocks and fields for us to hike through. It was fun to see the animals from the windows too. The house was clean and the beds super comfy. They left us chicken, quail and an Emu egg for breakfast in the fridge for us. The kids LOVED seeing the Emu egg. There is a cozy fireplace and very lovely artwork in the house too. We baked and cooked a bunch and spent a lot of time at the house. The grocery store is very close as is a very cool 1965 built 6 lane bowling ally. We would totally visit again if we are in the area. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!!
