"For £60 a night I had a clean and comfy bed, a hot shower, and a tea and coffee station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a little noisy and crooked, but it's an old pub with normal pub hours so that's to be expected. I'm a female in my early 30s travelling on my own and I felt very safe and welcomed.
Obviously this is not the hotels fault so still rating a 5, but just make sure you have a decent car to get there as the route is very steep and goes through a mountain range.

"A gorgeous tastefully decorated hotel absolutely immaculate. Staff welcoming. We went out of season and it was so peaceful stayed in the stargazer room with beautiful views of hills. Would definitely return and grassmere village is just lovely "

"Lovely traditional B&B very close to the centre of Ambleside. The room was clean, warm and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfortable! Joanna was a great host and I felt very welcome and safe as a solo guest. The breakfast room was charming and I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast on offer. "Stayed in the Superior Room, which was a good sized room overlooking Cartmel Square, ideal location. A lovely en-suite shower room, all at a high standard, and perfectly prepared for a warm welcome. We loved it and fully recommend a stay "

"Having been to Glenridding many many times, this is the first I’ve stayed at Fairlight Guesthouse. It won’t be the last! It was a lovely place to stay; great bedroom, comfy bed, powerful shower, onsite parking, lovely staff and good breakfast. "
