Condo overall was great! The bed on the 3rd floor (master king) was horrible and needs to be replaced. The fenced in yard needs to be repaired. Be careful when looking for the driveway it is between bushes and is not marked the best. With some minor adjustments would be 10 out of 10.

Great Beach Access

Good house and better location. Getting to the beach was a breeze and being able to use the private beach access down on the southern end allowed us to have a lot of space. House was clean and had a well tooled kitchen. Not as much space in and around the bedrooms but was comfortable for 6 of us with dogs.

What an amazing house and location!!

Just wrapped up a week at the beach with 5 adults, a teenager, a 6 year old, and 2 toddlers. The house was clean and fairly spacious for all of us and the location to the beach couldn’t have been better unless we were oceanfront. Loved that the house had a yard and was tucked away from the road a little, hidden by the vegetation. And the kids had a blast with the whale sprinkler. The inside was gorgeous and well cared for. The only knock is that the main floor doesn’t have a bathroom that’s accessible except by going through a bedroom which wasn’t ideal with a recently potty trained toddler. Some of the spindles on the top floor balcony were detached on the bottom which was obviously a safety concern with little children there. But the rental company sent someone within an hour of us contacting them to fix it. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Bluebird and would definitely stay again!!

We didn’t want to leave!

We really enjoyed our our week at Bluebird! After unpacking, we were immediately able to relax and enjoy the view! The owners and property managers thought of everything to make this a true home away from home! The fenced dog run is a great perk, but when our pup realized that the ocean was less than a minute from the front door we couldn’t coax him to use it! The outdoor shower and hose were great for after-beach scrub downs!

Relaxing stay

Aging, generally clean, bunk beds uncomfortable, bathrooms need specific cleaning, Good cost factor, easy walk to beach, very pleasant overall house atmosphere... weather was great.

Birthday get away

We had a wonderful experience with our kids and our dog. Access to the beach was easy. The dog run made nighttime outings with the dog safe without having to put her on a leash. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were super comfortable. We loved the decor. This house allowed us the option to each watch our own TV at bedtime and also a great option to play games and work a puzzle at the main coffee table. Thank you for sharing your home.

Perfect Thanksgiving at the Beach

We had a great stay at the Bluebird house. Communication and instructions around check in/out and house details was excellent. The location was perfect with beach access right across the street and ocean views from the deck. We were so happy to bring our dogs along and appreciated the (small) dog run for their potty breaks. The bedrooms were on the small side - not an issue but we scoped out the best one that would accommodate the dog beds and it ended up being downstairs. The living space was perfect for cooking, puzzling, relaxing, and enjoying the view. We also appreciated the little nautical-themed Christmas tree and turkey decor! Thanks for a great stay!

Long weekend visit

First time visiting Topsail and we couldn’t have asked for a better location. Easy walks to beach and intercoastal and quick drive to restaurants. House was very cozy and had plenty of decks for late afternoon reading. The fenced-in dog area, although small was a huge plus. Bluebird was great!

Anniversary Trip

We enjoyed our stay and the property was very nice. It was our first time visiting Topsail beach with referral from another couple which went on the trip with us for our 4th wedding anniversary. Everyone had a good time and the dog run was really nice having brought our dog with us. The only recommendation I have for the property owner is that there was no pizza cutter that we could find :(. I love pizza so I just had to throw that in there haha. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

We’ll Be Back

We loved this house! The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach. We loved sitting on the upper deck and being able to see the ocean. Our dog Drake was very happy here. The house had plenty of room for our extended family. The only downside (and it was minor) - the kitchen/living room needed a good sweeping when we arrived. There was still Hershey Kisses wrappers and Nerds candy in the floor left from the previous guests.

Had a great time

Overall we enjoyed the house and had a great time there! We loved hanging out on the upstairs beach-facing balcony and my kids loved seeing the occasional anole on the sound-facing balcony. Several things were supplied including several beach chairs and umbrellas, plenty of dishes including large pots and pans, a pack n play on the kids’ room and extra bedding and pillows in the closets. Some of the dishes could have been cleaner but that’s nothing the dishwasher couldn’t take care of. We were excited about the dog run but our sneaky 12lb morkie was able to slip through the posts & the gates so we had to keep a leash on him anyway. I recommend giving this place a try if you’ve got a big group!

Great beach house!

My family and I had a great experience at the Bluebird house. Everything was as described. Great location and views. Really enjoyed the top deck! Very accommodating for our dogs with the fenced in area. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Our stay

Property was located great..ocean view and short walk. The floors could have been lots cleaner and still evidence of pet hair on floors and couches. Biggest concern was mold in A/C unit. The 1st level bedrooms were most impacted by this. Space for our family of 7 was great.

Great Location but cleanliness left a lot to be desired

Overall the location of the house is perfect, easy private beach access which is a big plus. The house was NOT clean. There was dog hair all over the floor, couches, bed covers and bed mattresses. I found a toenail on the floor of a bedroom and a dirty sock under a dresser. During check out they make you strip your own sheets but they ask you to leave the duvet and mattress covers on the bed. When we arrived the mattress cover had dog hair all over it and the duvet had sand and dog hair on it. Why would they not wash a duvet cover between people? That's unsanitary in my opinion. We had to ask the cleaning crew to come back and mop the floors because they were filthy. If you are a family with young children who go to bed early, beware that the bedrooms are on the first floor with the living space and a master bed on the second floor. You can definitely hear people walking overhead and chairs moving on the second floor so that made it challenging when trying to put our kids to bed.

Great beach visit

We had two adults, two seniors, and two kids along with dogs on our trip. Contactless check in was great and the house was clean. The master bedrooms are smaller because of very large beds, but they are nice. The dogs had an excellent time! As expected, there were a lot of stairs for senior citizens both in the house and to get to the beach. No major issues with the house; a pipe for the disposal broke but it was fixed the next day. We had a lovely time!

Fantastic!

This is a cozy and beautiful house, with everything we needed. We had such a wonderful time being with our family, relaxing, walking to the beach, cooking delicious meals in a well stocked kitchen, and just being together. From the deck you can see the ocean, and the walk to the beach is very short and convenient. We had a blast exploring the island and were very comfy in the house. Would definitely book the Bluebird again!

poor communication

i asked that they not use chemicals to clean the house the person who talked to me through vbro said that was no problem but apparently didnt communicate it to the realty group so i had to deal with recleaning when i arrived so that i would not be sick the whole time when i contacted the office they said they never got the message and said they would send someone to reclean or offer a refund which they did neither the house itself was awsome but i will not book through vrbo again or use the realty group that managed this home

Blessed at Bluebird

We spent our spring break at Bluebird. It was a great experience! The house was very clean and organized. Kitchen was well stocked. Extras included were beach chairs and umbrellas. The upper deck was a great place to enjoy breakfast with the ocean in the distance. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms so everyone had their own space. Beach was a short walk across the street. The pet run was perfect for our two fur babies. The only thing to take into consideration would be the stairs. The main living area is on the top floor. One of our family members was elderly and the flights of stairs were tough for him. Also the driveway is a bit tricky to find. As you look at the house, you would use the driveway to the left of the house. Overall a great stay and I would highly recommend Bluebird!

Enjoyed our week away during covid times. Beach access was across the street. house was lovely and well-appointed. Could use a little extra Attention to cleaning and dusting, but most areas were fine. Would come back!

Beautiful Location

We Loved This House!!! Just me and my husband escaping with our dogs from our house after 12 months of lockdown. If you aren’t yet familiar with the Topsail Beach side of the island, and you are looking for relaxation this is the side for you. The beach is lovely, the home is well appointed, and being set off the street a bit with the trees and brush and birds serving as a sound barrier from traffic really makes a difference. I can see this being perfect for families or groups with separate levels and lots if bathrooms. It can be a bit difficult to find, as it is set off the street, so be sure to watch for the driveway surrounded by trees, otherwise you’ll drive right past it. We’ll be back, and for longer stay next time:)
