Great Location but Needs Work
We had a great time during our week in Hilton Head! Ours was a family vacation with 6 adults and 2 young children ages 3 and 5. The location was awesome - direct beach access, very nice neighborhood, quiet area, and within a 15 min walking distance to shops and restaurants in Coligny Plaza – couldn’t have been better! We found the house clean with comfortable beds, plenty of towels and amenities such as soap, shampoo and laundry detergents as well as equipped with some family games and beach items. The kitchen was well-stocked with good dishes, utensils, pots/pans and appliances all in working order. The bedrooms were spacious and we enjoyed sitting on the screened patio taking in the ocean view.
The house, itself, was a disappointment. We expected the property would be old based on the description, however, the condition of the property was not up to par for the price point. The condition of the house is very worn. With the exception of the master bathroom, all the other bedroom/bathrooms look to be original. There was an overall impression of minimal exterior maintenance. Dead overgrown vegetation clinging to the balcony and a front door in need of new paint and/or a good scrub. Bug webs and/or cocoons were all around the outside entry way and at least one wasp nest on the garage door. The backyard grass area was trimmed but was overrun with prickly weeds and ants everywhere which prevented us from enjoying this great space.
