Open concept home

Very fun for family stay. Open so everyone could enjoy their own activities but be together. The location is perfect and very family friendly.

Great location, but not great enough to mask all of the other issues.

The good: the location is great. Super close to the salty dog and an easy walk to the beach. Really cool layout for the home and the AC worked great with the hot temps outside.The bad: not as clean as we thought. We noticed hair throughout the week from previous stays, and the main dining room table had a glass top we thought was just a “misty” glass. No it was just dirty in the bottom side which was extremely gross. We never could get any of the TV’s to work and luckily had a fire stick to use with the WiFi. The pool did not appear to be running so it had not been backwashed and had no moving water. It had chlorine tablets just sitting in the skewer that a child could easily open up and grab. The toilets were constantly running and one had difficulty flushing. The property manager called me and said a plumber was coming due to a water leak. The plumber came and identified the problems, but then waited over an hour to get permission to fix the problems but never got an answer and left. The toilets remained the same the rest of the week.The ugly: lots of safety issues. The pool deck had multiple holes or lose boards, one we had to cover with a flower pot to prevent accidentally stepping on it and having a foot go through. Many reviews mention this and that is had been “fixed” but it doesn’t appear so. The living room also had a ton of outlets on the floor that were not covered or had loose covers that easily could be a hazard for a small child.

Disappointed

We were very disappointed in the property. The array of interior colors we expected from the pictures but we didn’t expect the property to be so antiquated and in need of repairs. The unique musty smell in the house stayed on our belongings for days and had to air out once we got home. The blow dryer didn’t work,no lights in one bathroom worked, uncovered electrical outlet in another bathroom, cabinet door falling off in one bathroom, thick dust on ceiling fans and air ducts, filthy stained chair in the living room that no one would sit in. Housekeeping was sent back out to address the dust but only dusted ceiling fans. I took pictures of several many issues in case the owner denied the problems. The only positives are the location and the pool. I do not recommend this property as it needs a deep cleaning and overhaul. We were given $110.00 credit for the dust issue but that in no way made up for the rest of the issues.

Aside from the upstairs bathroom leak that was poorly handled and not resolved during our stay, the property was gorgeous, large and clean. Took care of all of our needs.

Beautiful Home

My Wife and I had a wonderful time in this home. The road construction created some delays but was not onerous. We enjoyed the relaxed pace of the neighborhood.

CONSTRUCTION ZONE

The home itself is actually pretty well described. The home suffers from some deferred maintenance, but very functional and worked well for our large group. The beach access is literally across the street, the pool was well maintained, and there were multiple support facilities. My biggest complaint is that we had to listen to banging construction from 7 am - 5 pm EVERY day, even on Saturday. This house is in the middle of a construction zone with multiple new construction’s going up around it and at this moment, it was directly behind us. We couldn’t hear conversations out by the pool with all the air guns. Last thing you should know, this is a gated development and passes are required, but only 4 vehicles are allowed. That was huge for us, as we had family from 3 different states arriving at all hours and we had to meet them at the gate in the middle of the night. We only received 3 passes instead of 4 which made the checking in process PAINFUL.

Worst stay in HHI ever

Proximity to the beach is the one and only positive to this property. We arrived to an out of order bathroom that was never fixed while we were there. A missing spindle that opened up a large gap at the top of the stairs (we have a small child). Pool was disgusting, not cleaned, pool pump not on. Algae on the deck that was incredibly slippery, one of our guests actually did fall. Day 2 of our stay, we realized the dryer wasn’t working. I had not brought enough clothes for 7 people, fully expecting to wash and dry clothes there. All but the broken bathroom were promised to be fixed within 24 hrs of our arrival. I contacted Vacasa by day 2, as no one was fixing anything, no reply. On Friday just before we left, the pool was finally cleaned and the pump turned on and the spindle fixed, just in time for the next guest. With all this being said, we were credited just $330, not even 1 night stay. Do not rent this property or any that Vacasa manages. Just look at the Better Business Bureau, there are many reports against this managing company.

Exactly what we were looking for

The house is huge and has a variety of beach items you can use. The pool is fantastic and shaded during the hot afternoon hours. Had pretty much everything we needed and were very happy with our stay. If you're looking for a super fancy/updated house, this is not it. The decor is retro and items like the fridge could be replaced, the doors are literally peeling off in some places. Not a place that would appeal to my parents, but our group had a great time and would 100% stay here again.

Very nice place to stay. The excellent location made this a memorable experience.

My Family loved the property and the private neighborhood it’s in. The short walk to the beach, the pool, the nearby shops/ amenities, all made this stay very enjoyable for everyone.

Family Get away

We were without hot water for the three days we were there. I made several calls to management who assured me someone would be out to check it and repair it. They never showed up. Therefore my 74 year old in-laws had to walk to the other side of the home to shower etc. I felt we paid two much money to rent a home only not to be able to use it to capacity. I still haven’t received any retribution for it.

Very dirty

Guys this place is just gross. When we arrived, there were 6 ripped open garbage bags with a nasty smell. Vacasa did get this cleaned up at about 10 PM after several calls. Food was matted and stuck to the couch cushions. When we arrived, we spent a lot of time vacuuming to make it safe for our kids (crawling age) because of food and grime all over the floors. Pool was covered in algae. Vacasa sent someone over to skim the top, but did not actually vacuum or sweep the pool. We asked for the location of the pump to try and at least run the filter, but we weren’t given any information. The AC didn’t work for half of the house (master and upstairs) for the first half of our stay. We were told we would be compensated for those nights as it couldn’t be repaired (of course we were not compensated). Sinks and tubs are completely rusted out and grimy. Overall it felt like sleeping in a tent, waking up more dirty than when you go to sleep. The pictures we’re very clearly taken YEARS ago. It does not look like the pictures posted on the site. For the price, I expected it to at least be cleaned. Please don’t waste your money, there are so many other options in this area that are beautiful. If I were the owner of this property, I would be furious with Vacasa for the condition of my home.

Spacious house & Excellent location

We stayed at the house for a week in Dec.; really enjoyed the spacious rooms and fully stocked kitchen. Easy walking access to the beach. Great location!

Spacious house- great pool great location

The pool and deck area were great. The house is spacious and the natural light from the sky lights was nice. A few quick fixes: the door knob on the upstairs bathroom fell off, the door on the other upstairs bathroom was gone and a shower curtain in its place. The couch has several broken spots in it and is uncomfortable needs to be replaced. Otherwise my family enjoyed the house great location just across the street from a beach access path.

Girls tennis weekend

I had difficulty finding houses for the weekend in May that we were coming for a tennis weekend. Found this house that sleeps 10 if you share beds. All was good except a few things. The couch is very uncomfortable! It felt like sitting on bricks. Also, the mattresses on all the beds are very hard.

Not Great.

The home on first impression is really nice. It is spacious and well stocked with all the necessities. It was a short walk to the beach which was a plus. Unfortunately the house was not clean. There was a lot of dust. There was rat poison out in the downstairs area that we had to hide from our toddler. The bathroom upstairs was in bad shape. The door had wood peeling off and one of us got locked in the bathroom because the door handle broke off. The pool is shaded all day so the water was very cold. The coffee maker was broken but management was quick to get us a replacement. All in all it was not worth the money.

Good, but old

For the price after taxes & lots of fees, I expected some beach toys, chairs, blankets, etc. Pool furniture not clean. Also there was a bad smell in basement carport. Location and size great! Pool is NOT heated, so don't expect to use it Oct to March, again for the price I'd expect (it did say in the listening unheated). It was probably awesome in the 1970s, but needs some attention.
