50th Anniversary Trip

We stayed here over the 4th of July week to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. So, there was my family of 4 l, my brother’s family of 5 and parents. The house was just the size we needed to accommodate 5 teenage boys that are 6 ft to 6’5. The outdoor lower level space was perfect. The pool is small, but a great cool off after time at the beach. Which I think is the purpose😁 My only drawback is the location is not near Coligny and other restaurants. However, I would stay here again. Loved the shuttle service to and from beach; definite plus.

Great location

Better than expected! The location was a very convenient walk to the beach if you wanted to, but there was also an excellent golf cart shuttle service that a family (husband, wife, son, and dog) drove daily. Very easy to give them a quick call and get an easy maybe one minute ride to and from the beach. There is also conveniently a beach bar called Cocos that is not far at all from where you enter the beach. That was an awesome advantage because you could hang out at the beach all day with access to fresh lunches and cold drinks. The house was very nice and worked perfect for our group (6 adults and 2 kids). The kitchen was tight to us, but it wouldn’t be enough of a reason to not rebook this house. We had a couple tiny maintenance issues that were quickly resolved. The multiple balcony areas are great and the trees offer lots of privacy, we even had a hawk come land in a tree and hang out with us for a little while. The pool is very small (pictures make it look bigger in my opinion) but it was ample to just hang out in after the beach or days you needed a break from the sun as it was mostly under the porch. Great little hang out area with fans, plenty of seating, a grill, outdoor shower, and full bathroom. It’s also great to have access to the garage to store beach gear because not all houses we book on other beaches have that access. You won’t be sorry if you book 5 Henry on Hilton Head!

Great location!! Enjoyed our stay.

We arrived to a very clean, comfortable and spacious home. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans coffee makers etc. all the bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Outdoor living space by the pool could not enjoy due to mosquitoes. We enjoyed the access to the park across the street. Busy weekend for beach access, parking was challenging. Vacation Homes was extremely helpful and responsive!!!

We really loved the property! Nice access to beach and parks, convenient to island thoroughfare. House was well appointed and updated. Great entertainment spaces, lovely outdoor area. Would highly recommend!

Amazing location and house!

Loved the location. The beach was only a short 2 minute ride. There was a dog park about a 5 minute walk and a children's park about a 10 minute walk or 2 minute ride. The only thing I was not a fan of was no easy way to put up a safety gate to keep the little kids from going downstairs. I worried that they would get down the stairs and into the pool without us noticing. The rug at the bottom of the main stairs slid alot and I worry in the future that an older rperson might fall. Other then that the house was perfect.

Review

Nice stay and property. Upstairs is very nice. Main floor as well just a little crowded space compared to furniture. Kitchen was fine. Downstairs pool area a little less clean but its winter time there.

Pleased

Property was clean and the check in/out process was non-existent. The property manager even refunded money for my pet when she could no longer make the trip:(. The property is within walking distance of some less crowded beaches and a park—which we loved. If you bring your critters, there is a dog park right across the street! We had a great stay and made some awesome memories.

Great Beach House!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house is incredible and so clean, and it's just a short walk from the beach. Working with the management company was a breeze and the perks offered through Vacation Homes of Hilton Head were wonderful. We'll be back!

Awesome !

This house is incredible. So much space. The pool was perfect and shallow enough that my 7 year olds could stand. Dog park directly across the street! House was close to Singleton Beach which wasn’t as busy. We were able to social distance safely. Pool area has a shower, outside shower, and a fridge, with interior stairs to the kitchen. You will need bikes or u can use the beach shuttle (golf cart). No public beach parking which is a plus!!! Short drive to Shelter Cove and grocery stores.

Wonderful stay

The home is beautiful and the location was great. The home provided just the right amount of rooms/space for our family and everyone was very comfortable for our stay. We loved riding bikes to the beach each day and enjoyed the natural setting of the neighborhood. The park across the street is an added bonus with trails, fields, and playground.

Great location

Extremely large home with a great layout to separate the kids from the parents for a few days. Proximity to the beach was great! Rent some bikes and go exploring. The area has everything, you just have to seek it out with how the landscape and architecture is designed on the island. We would recommend renting this house, but prepare to bring most amenities that you would expect to have on site, like garbage bags, beach towels, salt/pepper kitchen basics, toilet paper, etc. The landscaping is a bit overgrown, so the pool stays clean for about 3 hours. All in all, we would book it again.

Christmas stay

We had some plumbing issues. Two of the showers didn’t drain and a toilet didn’t work. Luckily the house has a lot of bathrooms. Other than those minor inconveniences, we had a great time. We really enjoyed all the outdoor space and the short walk to the beach.

Great place

House was really nice. The whole rental procedure was easy, love having a keypad entry. Could have used a bit more info before we got there concerning the towel policy (if you get anything on them you will be charged) I would have brought extra for make up removal and such things. There’s only one pot holder and a couple dish towels in the kitchen but otherwise it’s nicely stocked. There’s a shuttle to the beach access which was very convenient. Definitely a 5 star rental.

Beauty and Bugs

This property is a wonderful option for flare families or groups of friends. It would be a solid 5 if we were able to use the pool with being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Otherwise, a great place, location and beach!!

Great House at a reasonable price

The house was perfect for our group. We had 3 families (11 people total) and the bunkbeds in the one bedroom were perfect for our girls. There was plenty of space. The house was clean when we arrived. The pictures are a good representation of what you are getting. The xplorie card was a nice perk and saved us some money on the bike rentals and miniature golf. It's a short bike ride/walk to the beach.

Spring Break in Hilton Head

I'll start by saying that the house itself was great for 9 people. Plenty of room, and nice layout. We did encounter a problem the very first day which was no hot water on the main level. Not something you want to deal with when on vacation! I called the management company and they were able to send someone out but it took 2-3 visits from the maintenance person and a plumber to get it fixed so we went without hot water on the main level for 2 days. Apparently they had been "having issues" with these new water heaters ever since they were installed. The other issue was the filthy pool (and it's quite small). I am so glad we did not spend $500 to heat it. It was quite dirty due to the trees around the property. It was cleaned on Wednesday but it was a bit disappointing. The other issue we had was that the grill was out of gas. Yet another phone call to the management company. The tank was replaced the following day. Overall our stay was wonderful and we really enjoyed ourselves except for having to deal with the above issues which frankly, should not have happened. The house is in a great location, the beds were very comfortable, loved the porches, and it accommodated 9 of us very well.

Great Family Trip! BUT- The house and management have issues!

We spent a week here with 3 generations! We had a blast on the beach and made some wonderful memories. The house has nice decor for a rental but there where several problems. The cons: The air conditioner on the top floor stopped working on our first night. We realized it the next am and called the realty management. They sent out a maintenance man to take a look and he said it was clearly not working correctly but above his expertise. So later a HAVC repairman came. He determined the unit needed freon. At 5:00 he was gone and still no cold air upstairs. After several calls(6) to the very nice after hours Reality rep, we finally had AC at 10:30 in the evening. Very frustrating being taken out of vacation mode to deal with this problem. Also, the second master bedroom has mildew and mold all around the ac vents on the ceiling and the whole room smells of mildew. Not good. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but had NO pot holders, scissors, and only one kitchen towel. So bring your own! The pool was fun for the kiddos but after 3 days it was in need of cleaning. We skimmed it daily and made them all shower before swimming, but its the beach and sand made its way in. A mid-week vacuuming would have been great. We called about it but never heard back. It would also be nice to have a vacuum in the house that worked. On our last morning, we paid extra for late checkout (11:00 instead of 10:00) $100. A cleaning lady came to our door at 10:00 and said she had to clean and that everyone had to check out at 10:00. She came back to the door 5 minutes later and said she had to clean because someone was checking in at 2:00! All the while, we were on the phone with the realty trying to clear this up. She came back to the door to apologize. The communication between the realty office, renters, and repair/maintenance staff is lacking. The pros: The beds are very comfy! The house is in a great location, close to the beach, a great dog park, and a fun spot called Coco's! Plus minutes from shopping, restaurants,seafood market. We rented bikes for all and so glad we did! We had a great time despite the problems! Sept 2018

Loved the upgrades

The pool was dirty and full of leaves when we got there, couldn't go in even when we look leaves out. The remotes need new batteries too. The steps upstairs were dirty and were not vacuumed. Overall we enjoyed the house like we had in the past. Nice location and lots of places to walk and the beach is walking distance too. I tried to use the mobile app when we left to check out, but this was not available on the app.
