Perfect location

We had the house for two weeks during which our children and grandchildren came and went as their vacations allowed. We loved the short walk to a quiet part of the beach, walking to Coligny and using the pool. The house layout was very accommodating as family came and went.The management company was very quick to respond. The house cleaning and pool maintenance was excellent. The only things that seemed subpar was the quality of bedding (mattresses, sheets and pillows). and the property seems a bit dated. Other rentals in this range that we’ve rented have granite kitchen countertops, newer stainless appliances, better culinary tools. We were very happy overall, especially with the management company. Just not sure we would return to this property before we tried one of their other homes.

Cute house, great location!

Our college-aged kids were on spring break. This house was perfect for our family with enough room for everyone to spread out and have their own bedroom and bathroom. The location near the beach and shops was terrific. Can't wait to return.

Fun time

The property was very close to the beach 5 minute walk. Close to colony and restaurants walking distance. No need to drive. House had plenty of room the kitchen had everything you would need. Just a great place with large family and friends

Awesome Beach Getaway.

This property is amazing. We stay in Hilton Head three times a year since it is such a close drive from Atlanta. This house has everything a family needs for a relaxing time. The pool is huge! And the best place to be if the weather is a little cloudy. The beach is a 2 min walk down the street. Coligny plaza is a seven minute stroll to great restaurants and shopping. Cant say enough great things about the property management. They are very hands on with great communication if something comes up during your trip. My family and I would stay here again.

Great for families with pets

We've stayed here before and love the close location to beach and Coligny. The house had all we needed including the fenced yard and pool. The additional bathroom was great as we had 7 adults. The layout of the house was good for our family. The management staff made sure we had all we needed, even when we had small issue with the AC, they had maintenance on it right away. I'd definitely recommend to others!

Overall Good But Mildew Smell in Master Bedroom, Bathroom and First Level

We enjoyed the location and amenities of this property. Beachside Getaway was good to work with prior to our trip. Check in was fine. The lower level was unlocked when we arrived, and very hot and musty, so we never used it. The rest of the house was a good size and had all the needed amenities for our stay. Unfortunately, though, the entire master bedroom and bathroom area had a very musty, mildewy smell. It seemed to get worse as the week progressed. Partway through the week we discovered that one of the windows in the master was not all the way closed, and was sealed with masking tape. There was mold/mildew all under the tape and emerging around it. Thankfully there was another bedroom that wasn't being used as the smell was getting really bad. Management was polite about our concern, but when we asked for a partial refund we received no communication back. We were fine with paying the high rate for this home, but we felt it should have been in full clean and functioning order. When we noticed the smell, we started seeing that the property is not well maintained especially in regards to water. There is chipped paint, overflowing gutters, rainwater pooling around base of house and the musty/mildewy entire first level and master suite. This house is in an amazing location and the pool was a luxury to have on property. We just wished there was better attention to detail and cleanliness.

Definitely room to spread out here …. A little dated but clean. You get soaked with add-on fees, but that’s par for the course with VRBO … But it did seem more exorbitant than normal. The pool is nice. Did I mention the fees?

Great for family

We really enjoyed our stay at 12 Jacana. We come to HHI just about every year and this year we planned our trip last minute. 12 Jacana was a great find! The absolute best part was the pool and spa. We had 7 adults and 3 young children. This house was comfortable for the number of people in our family. The extra beach chairs to use in the garage was a nice touch. Also the little beach bag with goodies in it was a nice greeting. Very clean, the app is nice, and very easy to use. We also loved the private, secluded setting, while still close to the beach. Would recommend!

North Forest Beach

Absolutely perfect!

The house is amazing! It's a bit dated, cabinets are chipping, but everything is so clean! The beds were comfortable and the location is just a tiny walk to the beach! The location also helps with navigating the town without the hassle of a car! The pool is perfect and feels rather secluded so it's great for those of us who are a bit insecure with wearing swimwear in public! Beach side getaways app was super easy to use and the response to inquires had such a fast turn around time! They even called twice while we were there to make sure we were happy! Love it and am so happy with the house! It's a great choice!

Nice pool and spa

The house needs some work . The refrigerator upstairs does not work properly, it’s not even cold . The room in the basement is unbearable due to heat and spiders . The water in the master bathroom has a terrible smell and bathtub is very slow draining. Ants and mosquitoes around the pool and spa were terrible! We all left there looking like we had been on a camping trip and forgot the big spray .

Hilton Head Vacation

This house is about perfect--great location, 4 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms, large pool and hot tub (heated with extra fee) with fenced in yard for children. There is a separate fenced in area in back which is perfect for dogs. The house is plenty big to spread out and has a huge porch that spans the entire back of the house. The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from the other 3 bedrooms. The pool cabana room is unusable for sleeping because it isn't air conditioned and the dehumidifier pours out hot air. Only good for a pool bathroom and refrigerator for pool drinks. Other than that the place is wonderful. The biking pathways are one house over and the best shopping areas are 1/2 mile down the street. Walk to beach takes 2 minutes at the most. Away from crowds at the public beach. Perfect place to rent at Hilton Head.

Family reunion

The property worked out great for a multi generational reunion with the family. Everyone had their own space and grandparents were in a separate "wing". Pool and spa were wonderful and a short walk to beach and shops. Hope we can do again.

Awesome vacation spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The pool with the fenced in yard was great for everyone ! This house is fully equipped with every modern convenience. We did not have to to search for any household items whatsoever. I would highly recommend 12 Jacana to anyone looking for a relaxing Hilton Head vacation!
