Very nice house and good locationVery clean and well maintaine; we have gourmet chefs with us so used the kitchen extensively Rooms all nice and having master on bottom was a plus; we would definitely rent it again

Great Family Vacay

Loved this house and its proximity to the beach. Each bed and bath was well appointed and comfortable. Lots of communal living space. Outdoor pool and hot tub were a popular spot for us to hang out in the late afternoon and evening. Kitchen was clean, but could use a few more items. Larger selection of pots and pans would be helpful. Very creaky floors above master bedroom. Only access to the pool was out the front door and through the carport. While it was an interesting layout, the overall experience was wonderful.

Beginning of April stay

Very well equipped Kitchen and comfortable beds. Great porch and the fact that there were 2 large dining tables, one inside and one on the screened in porch was a big plus to leave big puzzles out, play games, etc. & still have a large table free for dinner. Heated pool and house proximity to beach were enjoyed by all.

Enjoyable Stay

House was clean. Pool and hot tub were great. Screened porch was very nice. Outdoor shower is at backdoor, but no way to get in unless you left it unlocked.

Location is great, cleanliness is bad & kitchen not stocked at all

The location can’t be beat. 4th house from the beach, amazing. The place desperately needs a deep clean. Baseboards looked they hadn’t been wiped down in years. Kitchen had tons of plates and glasses however two pans for cooking were old and scratched. I was concerned cooking for my family. To top it off, there was only a handful of forks and knives, I cut my lip on one of the five spoons in the house. It must have been so old and mangled. Would love to stay again if the owners sorted that stuff out.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was a little dusty and the floors were not super clean when we arrived, but we soon got over that and really settled in. The house is comfortable and spacious. We all loved the screened in porch. I sat out there doing puzzles on the table and we ate out there and relaxed. The patio was nice, too. Enjoyed the hot tub immensely. Great location for walking down to the beach and for accessing the bike path.

Ideal Location within Sea Pines

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It was exactly as described; the pool had lots of privacy and perfectly sized; the carport allowed for storage of outside beach items away from the rain storms we had; the layout of the interior was great and allowed all family members plenty of privacy, as well as lots of space for time spent together; and the screened-in porch was perfect for meals outside and the evenings, protecting you from all the bugs! The location provided quick access to South Beach and Harbor Town via car or bike. Most importantly, the beach was only a few minute walk away, allowing for easy transitions to and from the house throughout the day. We will definitely be looking to book this house for our next stay.

Great location

Our family spent a week at 12 Surf Scoter and enjoyed our stay. The location is central and convenient to many popular spots, like South Beach, Harbor Town, and Coligny. The trails are awesome for biking and walking. This home is minutes from the beach (it was not over crowded) which was nice. We really enjoyed the large screened in porch, well equipped kitchen and pool/hot tub. If there is something that would make this home a little better, it would be an addition of an extra refrigerator - not a deal breaker, but for large families who like to cook, the extra room for food and drinks would be great! Another amenity that would have been nice would be access to the elevator. My elderly father would definitely have used it, as stairs are hard for him to manage on a daily basis. The beds were nice and comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here again. Also the management was very cordial and accommodating as well.

Relaxing vacation

Overall we enjoyed our stay . Our check in was smooth . We weren’t certain about operating the hot tub; management was responsive in assisting us. Our recommendation would be for the linens and towels to be upgraded . The quality was not good. The sofa in the enclosed porch could also be cleaned better. The morning we were leaving one of our group members noticed the pillowcase was dirty. In fairness to the owner / property we discovered that on the last day and it was too late for them to rectify the concerns.

Amazing

We had such a wonderful time here. Two families 4 kids 4 adults and plenty of space. Each bedroom has own bathroom, it’s a short 2 min walk to a private type beach which with little kids was a must! It also had a perfect size pool and hot tub..we chose to heat the tub but not the pool and it worked out great. The house was in great neighborhood too. I would recommend this house and we would definitely come again.

We had an AMAZING WEEK!

We would LOVE to come back here.. never been to Hilton Head and it surprised us how wonderful it was! The endless palm trees and beautiful huge mossy triees.. we walked and biked in shade all week. Endless pathways.. have to rent bikes, you'll use them all week! BEAUTIFUL pool and hot tub.. plenty of chairs.. tables for outdoor seating, screened in porch was also amazing! Bedrooms/Bathrooms were clean and everything was great! I would've brought a big griddle for pancakes for our large family, as there was none. HIGHLY recommend it for your group!

Love the location and residential area, pool was great and spa having their own bathrooms was huge, closeness of the beach was very nice as well, screened in porch was nice as well, being a beach house not the cleanest but we have rental property and know this as well

Overall met out needs for a friends gathering for a week. House is clean, short walk to beach, new beach chairs, beautiful pool, and comfortable beds. Some things that need attention: sheets and pillows are worn out and need replacing, towels are thin and scratchy, kitchen needs can opener, oven has only one rack, dryer lint screen has hole, no place mats or coasters, and dining room chairs are scratching the wood floors.

Beach vacation

House was well represented online. Location was great. Easy, short wall to the beach. Private pool area was very nice. Outdoor screened deck was great. House only has one entrance with no direct access to the pool but it was not a problem. Very private and secluded. Great vacation spot for friends and family.

Nice house

We had 6 adults and two children in our group. This house is very nice and the property managers are great! They allowed us to check in a little early and we had a few issues and they responded right away. This house needs another fridge and it doesn’t have a pantry - those are the only real drawbacks.

Great location!

What’s not to love about a central location in Sea Pines just a short walk from the beach? The pool is perfect. The screened porch is very comfortable with two large fans that made it possible to eat outside every night even in late July. We had a great week. The house has a little bit of an unusual layout. The bathrooms are all en suite (no half bath or powder room). This is convenient when you are in your bedroom but is a little strange when you are in the kitchen and need to run downstairs to use the facilities (or into someone else’s suite). Oddly, there is only one door in and out of the house. There was also major remodel going on next door with hammers and nail guns beginning at 8 am every day.

Our family of six had a great 8-day stay at 12 Surf Scoter!

We were not sure about renting this property from reading the reviews (most from 2016) that were not favorable. I am so glad that we took a chance and rented the house anyway! We found the house to be in excellent shape and very clean and well outfitted. There is a brand new washer and dryer, brand new Weber grill, fresh paint, new refrigerator, flat screen TVs in every bedroom and the living room, a cook's kitchen that has all necessary utensils and tons of plates, glasses, and cutlery. Outside there is a nice pool and spa/hottub. We paid the extra fee for heating them for the week and enjoyed both pool and spa daily after the beach. The house if four houses back from the beach which makes it about a 4 minute walk and a 1 minute bike ride down the quiet street. The neighboring houses are also nice and a very quiet neighborhood. We rented bikes and easily rode them to the Sea Pines Beach Club, Sea Pines Shopping Center, and South Beach area (Salty Dog). The bike paths in Sea Pines are amazing and safe. The beach access is at marker 26 and was not crowded. There is also a brand new alarm system that we didn't use but looks good and beeps anytime you open a door. There is also high-speed Internet with wi-fi (5G) accessible throughout the entire house. Only things not provided were beach chairs, cooler, and umbrellas. I can understand that the chairs/umbrella age quickly with the salt water/air and transport to/from beach. We learned that most rentals do not provide the chairs and umbrellas so be sure to plan ahead for that. I would suggest that the owner/agent add a cooler to the well-appointed house. Sea Pines Getaways is the rental agent and they couldn't have made things easier for our check-in & checkout. We would return to this rental for sure - thank you!
