A few notes about the property itself. The interior is pretty run down, many of the beach and backyard amenities are not as pictured, and climate control is very unevenly distributed throughout the house, which made it impossible to be comfortable in all bedrooms at the same time. The backyard is flanked by 2 large recent constructions, so there is no sunlight in the backyard for most of the day and there are multiple AC units running constantly. You can hear these inside the house. The street is very nice but there's a very bright white LED streetlight in the front yard, which makes it difficult to sleep in the master bedroom.
There was undisclosed construction on the beach that ran around the clock. The construction, which involved heavy machinery and constantly-running diesel generators was occuring directly behind the property. Not only were we not able to access the beach from the property, there was no beach access within walking distance. This construction was publicly-disclosed, and communicated to the property owner, but was not disclosed to us on booking. Obviously, we would not have booked if we had known.
AvantStay was not very helpful; we were told that we would be getting a very large discount but, after checkout, were offered an 8% discount. This was ultimately raised to 16% but I suspect AvantStay's motive was to run out the clock on VRBO dispute resolution timelines. Dispute is pending with VRBO and our credit card company.
