We highly recommend this property. Very relaxing location right by the ocean, you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks below. Beautiful view of the sunrise from the upstairs or downstairs porches.This house is on the edge of a sea cliff so does not have direct access to the waterfront or a beach. Nonetheless it is an excellent base for exploring The Big Island. Quick drive of 5 minutes into the heart of Hilo. Approximately hour and a half to Kona/West coast depending on where you are going. Owner very responsive and helpful. All beds comfortable. Everything works perfectly. Kitchen well-stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. We were pleasantly surprised to discover snorkeling equipment available for use, along with beach shoes for exploring the rocky tidepools. Table on upstairs porch big enough for 8-10 people to dine. We would definitely stay here again and give this location our highest recommendation.

As stated in the title, this property is the perfect location if you are desiring easy access to all Hilo has to offer but also prefer to enjoy both quiet and privacy. The check in process was the easiest I have experienced among several stays at other locations. The email with the check in information was sent a couple of days before, the lock box and associated lock worked well, and when I did have a question, I had no problem contacting the property manager. I think that perhaps the home owners have been away from the property for an extended period of time. There were some maintenance and cleaning issues that need to be addressed: repainting of badly scuffed house walls, and peeling balcony railings, several burned out lightbulbs, no beach chairs available (but all kinds of other wonderful beach gear), dirty lanai and some cracked and well worn lanai furniture. The owner was very responsive to my inquiries both before and during the stay. It is my belief that once he is made aware of needed updates, the improvements will occur. Despite some maintenance/cleaning updates needing to occur, these did not affect our enjoyment of our stay and I definitely recommend this home.

We recently completed our 5th vacation stay at, “Absolutely OceanFront” in Hilo, right on the water. The ocean views were stunning, sleeping to the sound of the waves was incredibly relaxing. The house was clean, very spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The outdoor space, along with its upper & lower level Lanai’s overlooking the water, was perfect for morning coffee and sunrise (occasional cruise ship) or evening cocktails. The location was convenient to, Volcano National Park, hiking, beaches and 5 minutes from restaurants and downtown Hilo yet far enough to feel peaceful and secluded. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene oceanfront getaway in Hilo! Being from Texas we definitely enjoy our AC. We didn’t miss AC for a second! Can’t beat the smell of fresh ocean air along with the cooling breeze from the trade winds! Thank you again Brian and Elizabeth for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Hard to summarize the detail and perfection. We vacation a lot and this home went beyond our expectations. From the beautiful sunrises with a 180 degree view of the bay to daily whale sightings to the amazing decor. We loved the full body spray showers and deep soaker tub. The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. The beds and bedding were comfortable The house is in a nice neighborhood with only the sounds of the birds and the ocean. The ocean breeze was amazing at keeping the house at a perfect temperature The owners were only a text away with answers to any questions. The blender quit on us and there was a new one at the door the next morning check in and out was hassle free. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you Brian for sharing your amazing home in paradise with us!!!

We had a fantastic time here! The house itself was gorgeous with all the amenities you could want. The kitchen was well stocked. The view of Hilo Bay was incredible and we saw whales every morning from the lanai. The house itself is a quick drive to downtown Hilo/the airport yet in a secluded neighborhood so you feel like you are in your own private world. The host was very responsive and check in was great. Check out was even easier! Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We stayed at the house for 4 nights in January and it was a perfect base for our vacation. The house lived up to everything that was written about it! It has a modern, well-appointed kitchen and living area that opens up to a lanai with an amazing view of the waves crashing right up to the shore. We watched the gorgeous sunrise each morning. The house has lovely furnishings, airy rooms, large lanais on two levels with ample outdoor furniture, plus a large grassy area on the side. All stores and attractions are close by. Stay here and you will be very satisfied with your choice!

We stay in Hilo frequently and this is by far the best place we have stayed. Watched whales every day, great view from the deck. Loved the downstairs master, king bed, awesome tub. Brian was one of the best hosts we have staying with. This is his home and the decorating he has brought from around the world is fascinating. Very well stocked, every thing you need. Proximity to downtown Hilo is great. Love it, would highly recommend.

We had a fabulous time at this location. It had great views, was close to things in Hilo, and offered wonderful amenities. We enjoyed our stay. There was the perfect amount of space for our family. Beautiful property, equipped with everything you'd need for a great vacation (including beach stuff, toys for the little ones, great kitchen supplies)! We had thanksgiving dinner out on the deck. As soon as you walk in the door, the sound of the waves and the tree frogs make you feel like you're walking into a different world of nature and tranquility! One of the large beds in the downstairs was in a "nook" without complete privacy, which was fine for our family. It was nice to be able to space out the babies (one upstairs, one downstairs) so they didn't wake each other. Great location was convenient to town, a beach park and the sights along the Hamakua coast. We had a wonderful experience here!
