We absolutely loved our stay at the Sequoyah Lake Lodge! The home was clean, comfortable and the views of the Lake were amazing. We sincerely appreciated the number of kayaks and other floating devices made available. We sincerely hope to make this an annual event. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Highlands Getaway

Loved the views of the lake. It was clean and spacious. It served our group perfectly. I hope we are able to use the space again next year. This group of friends loves getting together in Highlands.

Thanksgiving 2023

This was the perfect house for our large family Thanksgiving get together! We had 4 houses total for our 51 person group and this house was by far the best. Plenty of space!! Great entertaining space! Adults enjoyed the extra large main floor living room and kids loved the downstairs ping pong etc. Great kitchen and well stocked. In fact everything was well stocked. Never wanted for anything! Didn’t get to enjoy the kayaks etc but did try a little fishing off the dock. Beautiful location!! Thx for the hospitality!!

Spacious Vacation spot in Highlands,NC

Our group of six arrived to find the Lodge to be spotlessly clean, located in a quiet and tranquil setting and roomy enough to allow us all some space to relax. Our only disappointments: the hot water side in the kitchen sink did not work. The mattresses in the two smaller bedrooms were old and not firm enough to sleep comfortably. The original VRBO listing indicated there was a pool available but there was none on site and no information as to where one might be located

Waterfront Stay

Excellent for families. Close proximity to restaurants, town, hiking, etc. The home was better than presented, larger and so nicely equipped with everything needed. All small boat ramp right next to the deck was awesome. Easy to load kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. There were several kayaks, a paddleboard and canoe, plue all the life jackets needed. The kids had a ball on the water and we could watch right from the deck and patio. Loved it.

On the Veranda for entire visit

the views are spectacular! House is clean but not updated. It was comfortable and enjoyable. Great game room downstairs. Terrific equipment to take out on the water. Having to dispose of your trash is biggest issue. If I am paying cleaning fees, I should not have to worry about the garbage (yes, I realize there are bears - still, having to get rid of garbage is a pain). Being charged $50 on top of the cleaning fee to get rid of garbage is insulting.

Lazy Lake Days

We rented the lake house for relaxation with a few hikes thrown in. Relax we did….evening on the deck watching the sunset was truly magical! We loved every minute there. Only one thing, the master shower head was old which could easily be replaced. That’s it! Lovely home with a great ambience and view, great hikes and restaurants near by! Don’t miss the one it’s a gem!

Fantastic location and perfect house for large families.

This property was perfect for our three generations of adults. Tons to do, beautiful views and plenty of space to spread out. Everyone loved the kayaks and we caught several large mouth bass... One 4 pounder! Often a house sleeps plenty of people but does not really fit them for relaxing and eating. This house had lots of space for everything. Thoughtful amenities in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus great labels and instructions for everything; no searching for light switches or struggling with TV's. I would definitively stay again and for longer.

Already booked for warmer weather!

The house is as beautiful as the listing suggested! The view was absolutely amazing and the home is a short five minute drive to town. Unfortunately we cut our trip short due to a forecasted winter storm. Had the downstairs fireplace been operational, we may have stuck it out, but we were afraid we wouldn’t be able to heat the huge top floor with the fireplace alone. The only thing people need to be aware of is the proximity to the main road. the driveway is short and there isn’t much room to turnaround. But that is a minor shortcoming for what is truly a beautiful house. If this one ever goes on the market, I intend to buy it!

New Years 2022

Highlands Lake Sequoyah Lodge was everything we had hoped it would be. Beautiful view of Lake Sequoyah off the back porch. Spacious rooms to accommodate all guests. We had a blast being able to use the kayak's on the lake. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend stay and we look forward to returning in the future!

Great place for large group.

Our family spent Christmas here and really enjoyed the home. The party consisted of 7 adults and it’s not easy to find accommodations that suit that many.. The kitchen is large enough to have several cooks working at once. It was nice to have several sitting/gathering areas. And there was plenty to do. Some felt the mattresses were too firm and said comfy pads would have improved their sleep. The only other negative was conflicting/confusing instructions for dealing with garbage, the fireplace, and checkout.
