Wonderful Relaxing Retreat

Upon arrival to Dog Mountain Road, we were a little leary of the location, long winding one way mostly drive to the houses along the mountain, was. little scary at first, but it lead to a beautiful setting of the this property. There was ample parking, easy turn around and nice area to walk our dog. The property was amazing and emasculate! Beautifully decorated and attention to details in every way was very apparent and appreciated. Overall this was a wonderful place and everything from location to attention and response by property manager was top notch! We enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

Wonderful Experience

I stayed at this property with my husband and two small dogs. It was perfect! Extremely clean, well-appointed and well-stocked. We were very comfortable and the owners are the nicest, most accommodating people! It's close to town and short ride to lots of great hiking. Highly recommend.

Great cottage and wonderful hosts

This was a perfect spot for our family of 4. Very clean and well appointed cottage very close to town and Glen Falls. We loved meeting Bill and they could not have been better hosts. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Highlands.

We loved our Highlands getaway!

This was my favorite vrbo so far! The property was very scenic and convenient to town. The cottage was immaculate and very beautifully decorated. It was the perfect size for me and my two teenaged kids. The hosts were amazing, I can’t say enough nice about Bill and Faye. They were very helpful about recommending local sites and were incredibly responsive when we hit a snag with our car. I can’t wait to return!

Perfect NC Mountain getaway!

My husband and I had the best time in the NC mountains. We so enjoyed our stay at this newly renovated, well-stocked, cozy, beautiful, private carriage house. Super close to hiking, shopping, fishing... and the on-site owners are very kind, informative and accommodating while also respectful of the privacy of renters. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we look forward to visiting again!

Heaven in Highlands

Great and comfy suite! Quiet and beautiful area close to town and everywhere else you’d want to go. Lovely and helpful on-premise landlords. Beautifully appointed apartment with super clear and helpful instructions. Enjoyable little town in the middle of wilderness. Exceeded all expectations! I think we’ve decided to move there!!

High Atop Dog Mountain

This house was beautiful and decorated beautifully. It was super clean and big windows gave plenty of light. They do allow dogs. The downside for some might include a narrow, winding driveway 3/4 of a mile shared by other home owners , no fireplace and steps up to a landing and more steps into the house - would not recommend for seniors with walking issues. The owners live on site and were very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our needed stay!

Mountain retreat

This is an apartment above a garage. It is newly renovated and very comfortable. We were two adults, so the space was just right, but I think it might be too small for two couples despite it being a two bedroom, two bath. Be aware that the access to the place is up a one lane road that is very curvy. If you’re driving up to the apartment and someone is coming down the mountain, you’ll need to back down the road to let them pass.

Long weekend

The property was exactly as advertised and pictured. It is convenient to Highlands and we enjoyed exploring beyond the area. Be aware that it is a one lane road off the highway that winds thru the neighborhood up to the property. Just a few minor suggestions to the owners: a full length mirror would be very nice, boxes of tissues for bed/bath and maybe some glass in the shower doors would help it from feeling like a cavern. Do not get the wrong impression, the property is cozy comfortable & very clean,
