The room was not ready. I checked in and received a key and went to my room - to find housekeeping and an open door. (The cleaner told me the man who checked me in thought a traveling nurse made the reservation and I didn’t look like one, he gave me a different room. He thought someone else was still coming for the other room. The one that I reserved and that WAS ready for me.) She seemed to have just started but said she’d only be a few minutes. After maybe 10 minutes, she went to get a vacuum but came back with a key to the room next door to give me instead. It had been cleaned but they had sprayed so there were dead spiders literally everywhere. She decided to just vacuum the original room and have me stay in there. I generally use the tub to soak a lot while I’m there so I asked for a room with a tub that didn’t leak. The tub did have a slow leak and it was not properly cleaned. I used my face wash and body wipes to scrub the bottom and sides out, all to have the water leak out along with my geranium oil. They helped me with a make shift seal but it was a still a hassle. **The previous manager retired** and it’s very obvious they need better help. This small motel was a stand out bc it was always very clean and things were done right. If that changes, they won’t last.

This is an older establishment. I stay her every once in a while as I visit family. It’s convenient & I feel safe. Owners are on site yet have employees & I have never seen the same ones twice! Floors are vacuumed, sink & tub & toilet always clean. Pillows aplenty yet pretty well used. Sheets ( and I always take a light to ensure clean) and towels always clean. Shower towels are unusually small so from now on I Will pack my own. This trip I was surprised to see the mini fridge was removed from the room. Which was fine, yet I was surprised. For years there has been a fridge. I do not use the free (as advertised) breakfast. I am not interested in starting my day with little Debbie buns & self service milk from a jug in a fridge which everyone else also uses. Just not that appealing to me. The Casey store is 20 steps away if I need a coffee or a milk. There are other options as well within the community or 8 miles west more fast food options as well. Check out is easy, drop the card key & go. Price fits the level of this motel. It’s about a $50 motel at a $75 price. Right off 1-70, so seems to fill up during the night although I do believe that some rooms may have guests actually living there. Same cars are always there trip after trip. There is a broken down car which has been sitting outside “employee only” door I would say for over a year. With all that said, again, easy, clean, and I know what I am getting every time.

Not clean. Awful pillows. 2 bad twin beds put together to make 1 very uncomfortable bed. Why does this place have an 8.6 rating?! I don't expect much from a motel's included breakfast, but aside from some cereal, there were 2 super brown bananas going bad. I was hoping for at least 1 banana to eat. Don't care much but it would be nice to Nice staff, but it would be great if they did a better job cleaning. I would never stay here again. I only stayed here for 10 hrs but would have gladly paid a bit more to brush my teeth , shower, and sleep in a clean room.

Booked two rooms for 4 adults. Area was quiet and the staff and owners work hard at keeping this older motel looking nice and cozy. It felt like the 80's and family trips in the best way. Right off I-70 with a 24 hour Casey's located next door. Loved the stay here, will do it again next time I'm kicking it in CoMo.

First I have never written a bad review even if I didn't have a good experience. We were in town for college rodeo in Marshall and there rooms were all booked so had to stay in Sweet Springs. Found this motel and was very hesitant to stay just from the pictures but we were out of options. But since the reviews were good we opted to stay there verse's the Super 8. Check in was slow, grounds clean but very old. Room had dirt on floor and a few dead bugs. Bedding very used. Staff not friendly but not rude either. We felt very uneasy for some reason and that started with check in. We were booked Thursday- Sunday. Thursday night around midnight our truck alarm goes off we got up went outside but saw nothing, we needless to saw were very scared after that, 30min later it went off again we went out side inspected our truck again for signs of a break in. I called the front desk they said they have cameras and didn't see anything that it may have been a stray cat jumping on our truck. The next morning we left for rodeo and when we got back we were locked out of our room and had to get card rekeyed. We felt so uneasy and unsafe we left Friday evening and went home. I didn’t ask for refund just left.

What a quaint little place in sweet springs missouri ... it reminded me of the places we would stay when i was a kid...great memories. Awesome room, clean well decorated and a good AC i see why this 2 star motel has a almost 5 star review..breakfast isnt much but it has a great little area to hang out have a bowl of cereal and some fruit and drink coffee
