We always choose this hotel when we travel to Hickory and start our journey into the mountains. It's very quiet, safe, and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent!

Staff was very nice and hardworking. The overall property is kept up, but the rooms are showing their age. Especially the bathrooms, you can tell they have been updated but the overall appearance leaves a lot to be desired. There is alot of moisture in the rooms and hallways. Gives a damp smell.

This property is what I’ve always used in the area. However, this time I booked a room with a King bed. The bed was so small (App 56”) wide. When I brought it up to the lady at the front desk, she was arrogant and dismissive. Not wanting to cause a scene I stopped talking and went about my business. She swore that a king bed in was only 56” wide.

Great for the location. The hotel does have a stale smell need a good renovation. Linen and shower curtain was old and stained.

This is an 6.5, out of 10, at best. The downstairs units (2) I stayed in, had an overall mildew smell, the first bad enough to have me asking for a different room. There were oddly shaped mildew blotches forming on the fabric lamp shade. The carpet in both rooms visibly dirtied my socks. The toilet in the second room rocked from from to back, depending on how you sat on it. The linens appeared and smelled clean. The staff was wonderfully pleasant, friendly, helpful and responsive. This is a basic hotel. There staff appears to be doing the most with what their owners have afforded them. I would stay again if I was looking for the lowest cost clean option available in that area :)

Other guests were very noisy. Specifically a couple yelling at each other in the hallway at 6 am and again at 9 am, and not once did hotel employees try to stop the altercation.

Bathroom was really small, ice machine wasn’t clean cause the ice had black little specks on it, refrigerator didn’t work, the water in the tub/shower didn’t go down good and the breakfast wasn’t good options for breakfast was really low.

TERRIBLE. DO NOT STAY. RUDE MANAGER NAMED HOPE. I called around noon because I needed to transfer my reservation to my husband’s name, I forgot my ID, I was told this was no problem. Upon arrival I was greeted by HOPE, the manager, and she was huffing and puffing while having to make the change again. My husband simply asked if she was okay, because she was in such distress while doing her job, then refused our booking. Then she called the hotel across the street to tell them to refuse us. THANKFULLY, we found a *HILTON* and checked in just fine, no huffing and puffing. My first and last time ever booking a sleep inn. Expedia refunded my stay. *HOPE* YOU FIND NEW MANAGEMENT!!

There weren’t regular pillows on the bed. They were more like decorative style pillows. The sink in the bathroom didn’t drain at all so after one night, it was full of standing water. Overall, the property needs a lot of updates and maintenance. Otherwise it shouldn’t be priced at what it was
