Family get together
Loved the house. It was clean, great kitchen set-up, and a great location. We had one major issue--no hot water in the middle upstairs bathroom.

Mountain Escape
Overall the stay was pleasant. The cabin was laid out nicely with four upstairs rooms with two bathrooms and one bedroom with two bathrooms on the main floor. The only thing I would change about the room situation is making the downstairs room a master suite instead of the room with two twins. This way older people or people with bad knees could use this room instead of climbing stairs to share a queen bed. The kitchen has a huge island, two ovens, two dishwashers, and plenty of kitchen ware for any cooking you plan on doing. There is a two tier deck that is nice for enjoying a morning coffee watching the sunrise. However, we found no lights for outside at night so this would be something that would be nice to enjoy the deck in the late evenings. The location of the cabin is excellent. Just what we wanted tucked away in a secluded valley with a river close by. You could hear the water running in the river from the deck outside. Very peaceful. I’d definitely stay here again.

Picture’s don’t do it justice!
The property has amazing views! There were 11 of us and everyone had plenty of room. The path to the creek is overgrown and a little treacherous, but everyone (but me) participated in the adventure. A few of the outdoor furniture pieces could be replaced and I recommend some kind of room deodorizer for when the place sits empty for awhile. Manager was aware of two other issues we were concerned about. We would definitely return!

Hesperus House
Overall, a very enjoyable weekend with kids & grandkids. Grandkids loved the house & wanted to stay forever! Adequate indoor & outdoor space for our group. Several does with new fawns was the highlight Saturday morning. A couple of things that were not so great: door out to the deck is very warped & difficult to open & close, upstairs far bedroom window was hanging on on 1 hinge, the kitchen floor was not clean, & the trail down to the river was so overgrown that we could not use it & the kids really wanted to hike down, trash bins were full so we had to pile on top. Just little things that could be fixed but we had a great time!

Enjoyed it very much, house was wonderful. I would have liked to have had a master bedroom downstairs. Bathroom plugs wouldn't work, even after trying the reset. It did not slow us down as we are very adaptable. Would recommend and stay again.

Hesperus hideaway
Upon arrival at this mountain property, all 8 of us were saying WOW!!! This is AWESOME! The inside of the home was as pictured and even more amazing as we went from room to room. The atrium is just a beautiful add to the rest of the home. The pool table saw lots of fun action. Outside games were played in the large side yard. And the BBQ got some fun use as well. All around.....10+++++

Great place to stay!
This home was perfect for our family gathering. Plenty of space to spread out and still have private space for each family. The location is beautiful and is convenient to Durango and all of it's offerings. We would stay again.

Excellent stay in Hesperus
We hard a fabulous family and friend holiday . The house was beautifully situated, in the mountains with lovely river running through the property. Stunning views . The house was perfectly complete with all amenities required and ample space for family games and relaxing. We managed all sorts of activities: hiking, climbing, swimming, paddle boarding, fly fishing, mountain biking…and relaxing. Wonder’s stay. Thank you

Beautiful, Clean and Well-Appointed!
This house was even better in reality than the photos on the website! It was roomy, well-appointed, clean and situated in a beautiful place. I have no complaints about my stay, but I wish the room layout had been better explained: From the photos it seems like some rooms have sleeping lofts, and that maybe that some bedrooms are only accessible through another bedroom. In fact, due to the unusual architectecture, each room does have loft but with no furniture. Each room is private.

The home was amazing! Everything was more than what we expected. The only thing I would say was a little frustrating, was the amount of bugs in the home, especially when trying to sleep, there were bugs imposing on the beds. Other than that I would say everything was top notch. I would definitely book this property again.

Gret Stay!!
The stay at the house was great! We were very comfortable knowing everything was provided for cooking; bathing; and even having breakfast out on the patio. I wished we would have stayed longer. I enjoyed watching the mamma deer and and her fawns every morning in our front yard. The place was excellent!!

4th of July was a hit here
Excellent home, view spectacular, well stocked kitchen. Clean/ clean/ clean!! Back door needs a bit of Wd 40. Squeaky for sneaking out for early morning coffee to hear the river and the birds. Convenient to Mesa verde and Ouray. Horse back riding and rafting. Durango is cute town.

Great spot to unwind after Race Across the West
This was the landing spot in the Durango area for our crew and rider who completed Race Across the West. Plenty of space to relax - both inside and out. Great layout made this work out very well for such a large group. Would definitely stay here again!

Summer 2021
Our 3 families with teens had a great time at this property. This house is in the San Juan mountains and is minutes away from great hiking, exploring, and some beautiful waterfalls. The house is great for multiple families- we were grateful for the 2 refrigerators, 2 ovens, and 2 dishwashers. We cooked almost every meal at this house over a week, and it was well outfitted for our needs. This is probably the most well organized VRBO house I have ever stayed at, with plenty of space inside and outside... and very quiet except for the sounds of nature- we had a great time!

Mountain Getaway
This house was exactly what we were looking for, far enough off out of town that it was quiet and close enough that if we needed something it was an easy trip into Durango. The home is very well setup for cooking with a great kitchen that has everything you could need to cook for yourself or large groups. There was also plenty of room for everyone to get some much needed space after being cooped up for the last few months. We will definitely look here first when we are back in Durango.

Great house for summer
The house was great overall - it was clean and the kitchen was very well appointed and organized. The house fit 2 families of 5 perfectly. We spent all of our time in the kitchen and on the deck watching the stars at night. The kids had fun running around on the property and playing pool. The creek was beautiful but a little bit of a hike down, so probably just for older kids to go it alone. I recommend adding more pool cues- there were only 2 cues and one was broken. The WiFi was also pretty bad- we had to use hot spots to connect and only AT&T worked, not Verizon. We would return to this house in the summer. It’s about 40 minutes from Purgatory so it may be a little far for skiing. Overall, a great house!

A unique and lovely getaway!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and unique home. The property is filled with trees, a play house, decks and more that our kids spent hours exploring. There is plenty of space to spread out, and it is just down the road from some beautiful hiking trails in the San Juan National Forest. We highly recommend it! It had everything we could have needed for our stay, and it is just about 20 minutes outside of Durango.

Christmas 2019
We spent Christmas week in the house and it was great! The house is beautiful and so clean. The kitchen was a dream and well equipped to prepare meals for a large group. Lots of beautiful snow! We were concerned about getting out but the owner was there clearing the driveway for us! Highly recommend!

Great place for large groups
We celebrated Thanksgiving with another family in this home. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed to cook a complete Thanksgiving meal. The property was beautiful and there was plenty to keep the kids (and the adults) entertained. The sun room had a great view, and was where we wanted to spend most of our time, but it was cold this time of year. I do believe that the property management company is working on getting this resolved. Overall, we had a terrific stay and loved this house. We hope to get the chance to return to this home in the future!

Great views. Secluded. Very relaxing.
The front that is all glass down is like an enclosed porch and is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. There are two decks on the backside that are nice to just lounge on in the sun. The kitchen is huge. Very relaxing for one family or a group of friends with five bedrooms plus. My only real complaint is the TV - even with DIRECTV only has the very basic package. No ESPN or sports channels. We had WiFi problems but determined the router needs replacing. It is our last day (4 nites) here it still has not been replaced. We had booked 3 nites but added another since we liked the setting & house so much.

ATV riding vacation
There were 5 couples in our group. The house was exactly as described online. We came to ride trails in Silverton but found out there were trails that we could ride directly from the house on our Razors. The San Juan National Forrest is absolutely beautiful. The view from the back deck is breathtaking. We look forward to coming back next year.

Great House
This was a beautiful property in the woods - you are at 8000 feet elevation so the weather is perfect and not too hot at all. The rooms are very spacious - the pictures don't do it justice. And each upper bedroom also has a loft area (great for kids too). There are 4 full bathrooms as well and a fun treehouse for kids plus two decks. The property manager was amazing and came right away. We felt the one bunk bed was a little soft for us adults and he came and added extra slats that afternoon to make it more supportive. Truly a great place and great experience.
