Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review Pamela. We are not sure what issues you were having with the water temperature but we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay because of it. I can assure you the water heating was working fine during your stay, and the pool was at a constant 80 degrees. We sometimes call this the "goldilocks syndrome" (This bed is too hard/this bed is too soft), but as the customer, we would have worked hard to find a solution to make your stay more enjoyable. Hopefully on your next trip through the area.

We are sorry you had such a horrible stay Kali. That is unfortunate. You had brought the stickiness of the secondary lock (the main door lock was fine) and we offered to spray it with lubricant. You declined saying the primary lock was satisfactory. We had not heard of the ceiling tile above the shower being in disrepair until the housekeepers notified us upon your departure. It seems the shower had been splashing on the ceiling tile and we immediately replaced it as well as adjusted the shower head. A very quick repair. And while the cable for the television running along the wall is unsightly to some, given that the building was constructed well before the advent of cable TV, it is hardly random wires running haphazardly throughout the room. Especially none that would pose a danger to our guests. In order to provide our guests with the conveniences of home, we have to deal with the technology that comes with them.We completely understand that we cannot be everything for everyone. And we are truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. Had you expressed the depth of your displeasure while you were here, we would have been happy to help you in securing accommodations that would have better suited your needs.

Thank you for your comments Abhishek. We are sorry that you did not have an enjoyable stay. Although we demonstrated to you that there are multiple heating sources in the room which are more than sufficient for heating the room, and we were able to able heat the room to over 80 degrees while you were there, it seems you were looking for a heat source right at the bed. I get it! I prefer to sleep with a heated mattress pad but unfortunately that's not something you encounter too often in a hotel! Understanding your comments that the bathroom was cold when you got out of the shower, we even placed a space heater in your bathroom to heat that area up. While we all enjoy a nice heated floor after showering, a Motel is not a place you will generally find those amenities. Since we are a motel, we do not offer and food or beverage and given our rural location, the selection of off property dining is not as plentiful compared to an urban area. Trust me, after living here awhile you tire of the choices no matter how highly they are rated by locals and out of town guests alike! And don't get me started on finding a decent baguette! But our rural location is what people seek out. The view is spectacular, we are close to everything that Henniker does have to offer and our proximity to Pat's Peak and NEC can't be beat. Unfortunately, we disappointed you in your stay. And we are sorry for that. Hopefully on your next trip though the area you are able to find a lodging property that meets your needs.

We are so sorry you did not have a good stay Thomas. That is certainly not something we wish for our guests. Had we been aware that you were not happy with the room, especially the smell of smoke/pool, we would have been happy to place you in another room that may have been more suitable for you. As you and some others have noted, the property is older and you probably noticed the construction pieces outside your room. It is something we are constantly trying to update. We hope that you would try us again in the future when we can be sure to accommodate your needs better.

With all the moisture in those rooms, it’s so hard to keep them from forming some rust, so we just end up replacing them. So we’ll have to look at that room. And yes, everything seems so expensive now! We are very cognizant of our pricing and there are times when our competitors are charging 3X what we are charging, but we won’t do that. We charge what we believe is a fair price for what the product is (a motel) That covers the cost to run and maintain the place. We can never see why a room is 150 one night and 300 another. Did they change out the furniture? Does it come with a butler? Unfortunately, in today’s environment, the cost to operate has increased significantly, and those costs are what make up our prices, not how much we think we can get away with charging. We do remember speaking with you about the condition of the turtles, and as we explained, unfortunately folks tend to anthropomorphize animals and their human desires may not exactly align with what occurs in the natural world. We assure you the turtles are very well cared for. Other than myself, you spoke with other members of our team here about the that issue and that issue alone. If we were aware of some of the other issues you mentioned, we would have happily addressed them with you while you were here. Especially the lobby coffee, since I and the entire staff drink from that coffee machine numerous times a day. Sometimes too often! We definitely would have noticed something out of place! We do appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your stay. We take all comments seriously as we find, it is the guest comments that helps us improve the most. Safe Travels!

Thanks a bunch for your nice review. Yes some folks find our poolside rooms "unique" as they look out over the pool. But as many of our guests can attest, it's a great feature during the winter months when you want to take a dip in the pool! Unfortunately due to the storm and the difficulties getting consistent power, we had to take the pool offline during your stay. As so many were without power, we were thankful we could keep much of the hotel open and operating to provide a heated place to sleep and a nice hot shower. Hopefully you understand and thanks again for your very nice comments. We appreciate them.
