We had a very enjoyable stay at this property. The house has plenty of room and was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was awesome and well stocked. The views off the back deck were amazing! Misty mountains in the mornings and beautiful sunsets in the evenings. We did a couple of great hikes in the Pisgah National Forest and walked the new Ecusta Trail also. And we visited Biltmore in Asheville which was very memorable. This property is great but it takes time getting to and from it up in the mountains so you'll want to plan your days and activities accordingly. All in all we loved our stay here and would highly recommend it!

The Ponderosa

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the Lodge at Shady Branch. A neighbor we encountered on a walk referred to it as the "Ponderosa," hence the title above. Spacious layout, wonderful amenities, spectacular view and sparkling clean all apply. One of our top vacation locations ever! We look forward to returning!

Amazing experience

Fantastic views, clean and luxurious accommodations, excellent location, and wonderful hosts. We can’t say enough good things about this home. Everything we needed for an Asheville area vacation was right at our fingertips. The notes from the host allowed us to quickly get used to the house and make our stay very comfortable. Thank you!

Perfect Fall Getaway

My kids wanted to stay in a cabin. This place far exceeded our expectations with all the modern appliances, but with a secluded cabin feel. We loved our stay and can't wait to be back!

Rainy Day Heaven

If only the weather had cooperated a bit more during our stay....rain every day. But this was absolutely THE BEST cabin to be "trapped" in during the downpours that came every day. We did puzzles, played board games, played ping pong, watched the rain from the covered porch, watched movies, and sat around the table just chatting. The location is great....only about 15 minutes to food stores (provided the road doesn't get flooded out like it did for us). The cabin is big, and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need or want in terms of amenities (especially in the kitchen and laundry room). Also, the cleanliness of the place is the best we have ever seen in 13 years of renting cabins in the area. Everything was spotless, neat, and orderly. I wish we had had more time to enjoy the fire-pit and games on the front lawn. Maybe next year. This place is just made for a family gathering...kids upstairs in the loft playing games or downstairs in the smaller family area while the adults can be on the main floor. Just fantastic in every respect.

Don’t hesitate and book it. Sparkling clean, stunning views, fully equipped kitchen, very spacious house, comfortable beds. Kids enjoyed the pink pong table in the garage and game room. I cannot think of a negative Would love to return. House manager very attentive if asked questions. Great location - about 20 min to Brevard and 20 to Hendersonville. Great hikes and biking in Pisgah and DuPont.

Exceeded Expectations!!

This Cabin was beyond amazing and the pictures do not do it justice! From the moment we walked in I was so happy...it was much larger than I had expected. From the size and layout of the rooms to the soaring ceiling in the family room. There were interesting little pieces of artwork all over and grand deer heads and chandeliers. It was a candy store for the eyes. The bedrooms were large decorated beautifully and the bedding was truly comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with Everything you could need and the Host was sweet and left gifts of chocolate and welcome notes. The VIEWS were breathtaking....from sunup to sundown. This cabin will not disappoint anyone!!!

Details! Details!

All of our expectations were exceeded. Everything about this place was awesome! Felt as if i were in my own home. I wouldn’t change a thing. View was amazing! This is our mountain spot going forward. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Fantastic Property

This house is exactly as advertised. Great view of the mountains from the back of the house. You can see why they call them the "smokey mountains" every day. Everything in the house was functional and top of the line. The kitchen had more gear than i have ever seen before in a rental home (sharp knives(!), cuisinart food processor, kitchen aid stand mixer, every pot/pan/baking sheet made), BBQ grill, outdoor fire pit with wood, drinks refrigerator in garage, chromecast on the tv...I cannot stress enough how tricked out this house was with everything in working order. Julie is a great property manager and makes you feel if there is a problem, she will fix it (there wasn't). One thing to note: you are a solid 20 minutes from a grocery store (which is the whole point of the mountain get away), so plan your trips accordingly. We will return for sure.

Wonderful escape!

When we arrived the house was spotless. The kitchen had literally everything you could possibly need to cook your meals, which was great because we didn't want to eat out due to COVID. The view was absolutely amazing! You could see all the way to the Tennessee mountains. There are some great waterfall hikes nearby in Dupont State Forest. We enjoyed merely sitting outside with the lovely view. We also enjoyed their puzzle collection and did quite a few. The only thing is that the wireless wasn't all that great, but we didn't mind.

Stunning log home

First class accommodations in stunning log home. Property manager offers exceptional service. Highly recommended, especially for families. Very comfortable throughout the gorgeous home. Look forward to returning in the near future. Definitely a class act!!!
