Because of Coronavirus we weren't sure we would be able to come but the Lockdown came to an end just as our holiday was due. So it was a welcome relief for all of us to just be able to have a change of scenery. Two of our party had to work some of the time but they loved being able to look out at the great view from the house; a view of sun, sea, rocks and container ships. The rest of us went to the beach, visited Falmouth and St Ives and walked some of the many walks accessible from the house. Our favourite places were Kynance Cove, St Just and Godrevy.
The house was perfect for all of us, 6 adults, a 4 year old and an under 2 year old. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and there was plenty of room. There are stair gates, a cot and High Chair. There's even a wine fridge which we stuffed.
Because of Covid 19 eating out was difficult but we could get local fish and chips (and a vegan option) and have a drink outside the pub. We brought most of our food with us and topped up at the local, very well stocked store. We also brought with us a BBQ, but if you do that, watch out for the local thieving cat!
The play area opposite us was opened on the Monday and after polishing the slide so it was slippy, the kids made full use of it.
Coverack is beautiful and very peaceful and we will definitely return. We enjoyed every minute and were sad to leave. You do have to remember though that life is not as it was. Some Cornish residents were wary of us incomers, you can't just eat where and when you want or get what you want so you have to come prepared. And wherever you go, if it involves paying (such as the Seal Sanctuary or St Michaels Mount) you have to pre-book a slot. And there were signs everywhere asking you not to litter but people were very prepared and good about social distancing and keeping everything clean. That was very reassuring.
