Nice Getaway

Nice place! Far enough away to feel secluded but close enough to downtown Helen to eat and shop.

Not as pet friendly as they make it out to be make sure you read all fine print. Ended up not bringing dogs after we planned the trip specifically to bring them. Not the cleanest ever considering the dead bugs in the floors, dusty headboards, and mouse droppings on the couch. Other than that the cabin is nice and location is relaxing.

Cricket Hill

This property is so cute and perfect! Quiet and secluded yet close to everything. We even got to see some wildlife. Communication was excellent with easy check in and out. Plenty of amenities for convenience. Very clean.

It was alright

It was up hill which wouldn’t be a problem but the road up has holes and dips all in it. Also on the way down has spots that water just sits and gets muddy which your car can get stuck. The beds are just awful. I’m pretty sure the most comforting furniture in the cabin was the couch which would be too small for an adult to sleep on (I tried). Other than that it was bad. Location was great. Took just a few minutes to get to downtown Helen.

Perfect, with a couple minor exceptions

Over all it is perfect for me, and my crew. A four wheel drive vehicle is best for the steep driveway. I can see some potential struggle with a two wheel drive, but you can always park at the top of the hill. My only grievance is with the gas grill…. It’s crap. (To the owner, replace your grill) half of it wouldn’t light and the working half struggled. It’s a lovely place, and we will return in the future most likely. It’s older, and needs some minor attention, but there again this place is perfect even though it’s not the fanciest place out there. I will go back! Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

2/10 Terrible

Never again!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This little cabin required a four wheel drive to even get to it. The deck was filthy and you could not use. The grill was nasty as well. There was a spider in the pillow. It was not a pleasant stay at all.

Great Cabin, Horrible Access Road

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our cabin was very accommodating and clean. It has everything you could need to have a nice stay. Our biggest complaint was the road leading up to the cabin. It was horrible and very poorly maintained. The only way to get to the cabin in our vehicle was to zig and zag from one side of the road to the other and even then we worried about damage to our vehicle. We wouldn't rent a cabin at that address again simply because of the road conditions. Also, the refrigerator did not keep things cold, even after we turned it up to the coldest setting and let it sit for a few hours. Our stuff was still barely cold.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the trip got to bond with my daughter some more loved the cabin loved the staff at the company. The only thing is the cabin could’ve been a little bit cleaner. We had a lot of dead spiders attached to the furniture and a lot of cobwebs.

The road is almost impassible. I was afraid trying to get up it or go down it. Visitors need a four wheel drive to get to the cabin. I wouldn't stay there again. The den space is too small .

Cricket Hill cabin

The road up to the cabin was what I expected for a ‘mountain location’, however heavy rains had washed the road surface away leaving large washouts. The exterior of the cabin did not give a good first impression, it needs some TLC to keep up with the environment. Once inside it was very clean and welcoming but was missing a convenience basket of misc items that we have had in prior rentals, (shampoo, coffee filters , laundry soap, etc…) . It also needs to have a broom available for daily cleaning of the outside decks. The surrounding area is beautiful but the town is still suffering from effects of Covid. Businesses are short staffed and have limited hours to compensate for it.

Great little cabin, beware of road.

The cabin was nice, but the road to the cabin left much to be desired. If I did not have an SUV I doubt I would have been able to reach the cabin. The road was rutted with a lot of loose gravel. I lost traction several times and had to find another line to avoid undercarriage damage. Besides the road we enjoyed our stay.

Very clean

Cabin is cute, nothing elaborate, but was nice and clean. The location was lovely, way in the woods. Only negative thing was the dirt road to access the cabin had some significant ruts. Beware if you drive a small car that is low to the ground you might have trouble. The rental agency was very attentive. They called to check on us after a sto caused a power outage in the area.

Close to town, while being far away.

Check in was easy and the host called to confirm everything was ok. It's a great spot, 5 minutes from town but in the middle of the woods at the same time. We had a great time.

Cricket Hill

We loved staying here. The cabin is so cute and well designed. So conveniently located. If you need groceries there’s a market called Bettie’s and others are out of town. Everything’s no worked it smelled fresh and clean we will be back. The deck isn’t as inviting as you’d expect being tucked in the trees so far but it’s still wonderful. Greta Schumacher

Clean, nice & secluded

This cabin was really clean and beautiful . It was secluded and peaceful and close to town . My husband and I enjoyed very much . The only thing I could see being an issue is smaller vehicles that don’t have 4 wheel drive might have a hard time getting up the road to the cabin.
