Cool 'A' frame cabin in the ponderosa pines.

  • There is a bedroom on the first floor with a queen sized bed and three beds on the second floor, 2 queen futons and a twin bed. The bathroom has a shower stall and full size clothes washer and dryer. The kitchen has a full size frig, electric stove, oven and microwave with a table that seats 4. Heat is provided by an LP furnace and cooling by a window AC unit.

    High speed WiFi is provided by a Starlink satellite dish and entertainment is provided by a 50 inch Roku TV and a desktop computer.

    Several restaurants, bars, antique shops and hiking trails are located a short drive away. Black Canyon Lake is located less than 40 minutes drive away for fishing and kayaking.

My husband, 4 month old, 2 small dogs and I had a nice stay. The cabin is small and homey, just what we needed. The stairs leading up to the second floor are very steep, just be cautious. We enjoyed our trip!

Quiet and cozy

This is my 2nd visit. This cabin is perfect! Centrally located for where I wanted to go. Fully equipped, clean, safe, and in a great neighborhood. Almost like being at home.

The cabin had everything we needed (we cooked a lot), including a turntable and great albums. The neighbors we met were super friendly. All in all a great location from which to explore the Mogollon Rim. The local Mexican restaurant (Casa Ramos) was excellent. Perfect place to escape the Tucson heat.

Excellent get away

While the sign out front says "Nut N Fancy", it might be true that it's not fancy, but I would definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone, definitely for the price. Clean, warm, and plenty of room. We stayed for about 5 nights, cozy cabin, great location, and quiet.

Felt like home!

Peaceful and quiet, no distractions, neighbors must have been on vacation. Highly recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat. couldn't ask for a nicer host!

Great escape in the woods!! The check in was incredibly easy and the place was very cozy. I highly recommend this perfect, dog friendly, place to visit for the weekend or longer. We spent most of our time in the massive porch and were able to take in all the sights. The kitchen is one of the most equipped. It has all your pots, pans, and baking needs. The neighborhood was safe, friendly and overall great for walks with the pup.

Wonderful A-Frame Cabin in the Woods

Trees, brisk air, adorable cabin, and Ravens. This A-Frame Cabin was everything our family was looking for to spend Christmas away from home. It had all the amenities we needed to cook home-cooked meals, the check-in process was a breeze, and the location was an excellent, quiet little neighborhood in the pines.

Cute place, easy to find, quiet area. Refrigerator needs cleaning. Owner was very helpful. Would stay there again.

We love the front porch, but we wish there had been a gate so the dog couldn’t go down the stairs. She’s a rescue and has issues and she has the fear she’s gonna be left so we couldn’t let her out in the run behind the house by herself because she would try and escape. We were very comfortable in the house and she loved watching the squirrels on the porch.

We stayed here a total of 8 nights in the summer months. This place had everything we needed- If you’re a sucker for chapter books, vintage music, and good old fashioned outdoor fun, this is the place for you! We had everything we needed in our home-away-from-home. My husband and I both agreed that we would love to stay here again- A nice place to stay on our vacation when we were between outdoor adventures. Our only complaint would be the innerspring mattress in the main bedroom - If you’ve never slept on an innerspring coil mattress, google it. (It’s a great bed for an individual, not so great when sharing a bed with a partner)The kitchen had everything we needed, and check-in/out was a breeze. Joe is awesome, his place is awesome, and our stay was awesome. Definitely a vintage style cabin that won over our hearts We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. We were in town for a family reunion so we used the place just to spend the night. The location was ideal, the neighborhood was quiet at night, and it was easy to get in and out of the property. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well in the main living area, and the fan helped keep the bedroom comfortable at night since the a/c doesn’t reach in the bedroom. We also appreciated having access to a printer and found the owner responsive to most of our questions. The last question about the trash did not come until after we left. The hot water was good as well.That said, there are a few areas that need attention. The kitchen did not feel as clean as we expected upon arrival. We felt the need to wash most items before using them, and while the dishes were nice, the utensils appeared worn and mismatched. The cookware was also difficult to use because some of the pans did not sit evenly on the stove, making cooking challenging. We only ate breakfast there. Dust was another concern. We understand that keeping dust under control can be difficult in the area, but there was a noticeable buildup on many surfaces. In several places, I could easily run my finger through the dust.Our biggest concern was the towels. One set was white, clean, and in good condition, but the others were not. After showering, one towel left lint and fuzz all over me, which was unpleasant. Same thing happened when drying my hands.We had to remove our own
