  • The Mandarin is a private waterfront retreat in Hartswell, Great Exuma, with breathtaking views of Moriah Cay and its protected National Park. From your own dock, you can set out each day to discover pristine sandbars, secluded beaches, and calm turquoise waters.

    This spacious home features 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 10 adults and a baby. A pool overlooking the ocean, a large yard, and an outdoor bar with a Hibachi grill make it perfect for family gatherings or relaxed evenings. The house is fully air-conditioned, equipped with modern amenities, and powered in part by solar energy with natural filtered rainwater. A backup generator ensures peace of mind during island power outages.

    Moriah Cay—famous for its untouched beaches and crystal-clear waters—is less than 500 yards from your door. Two kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards are included, giving you the freedom to explore nearby islands, fishing flats, and hidden coves. For more adventures, boat rentals can be arranged to Stocking Island, Elizabeth Harbour, or Sandy Cay.

    Located on a quiet cul-de-sac away from the Queen’s Highway, The Mandarin offers the perfect balance of privacy and accessibility. Within minutes, you can reach local attractions, dining, and the natural wonders of Exuma, and in just 20 minutes you’ll be in the heart of George Town.

We loved our stay! The outdoor area with the pool made a huge difference. Monica was so helpful with ensuring that we had groceries at the house when we arrived. We had such a good time we booked it again for next year!

Everything was amazing. It it actually a main house and then 3 other bed and bath apartments with an outdoor kitchen and flat grill. The pool is amazing in the middle and the views go on forever! We used the kayaks and canoes two days to go over to Moriah Harbor and even made it to the Lazy River. It is definitely a workout but worth it. If I would change one thing that would allow the rest of our family with toddlers and babies to enjoy it would be a beach outside the property. Other than that - Perfection!

The Mandarin was located in a very beautiful area. We were able to kayak directly from the property to Moriah Harbor National Park. All of us, including the kids, loved this great adventure. The house was clean and well stocked with essentials that lasted the entire week. The kitchen had everything we needed and the laundry room was large with a long counter available to fold laundry. The property manager, Monica, was exceptional. She responded immediately to any concerns or questions from us. I highly recommend the Mandarin for your stay while in Exuma.

Our stay was fantastic. The pool was great, and there are lots of pool toys/floats and items to use. The waterfront is amazing. We swam off the dock, and took the kayaks over to the sand bars. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of beach towels and a nice big laundry room that is stocked with left over sunscreen/bug spray/etc.

This place is special and was perfect for our group. The kitchen is very well equipped and location is perfect between Georgetown amenities and the beautiful beaches in Little Exuma. The property is perfect for groups and very private. Water is incredible. Kayaks were fun. This place is paradise and would highly recommend this property.

PERFECT escape for our family of 7! Everything as described...clean and completely furnished from kitchen utensils to ocean toys. The layout is great for gathering...and separating for privacy when you want. Monica and Krissy were super helpful and prompt to reply (Monica even stocked our fridge as we were to Christmas day and Boxing Day is also observed!)

Magical!

We loved our stay at the Mandarin. Comfortable and peaceful, it was just what our family needed. The pool was perfect and the kitchen plus bar area were super fun. What a lovely way to experience the Bahamas.

Mandarin was a great house that was very nicely appointed. It was super comfortable for the six of us in our party. The water of Moriah Cay was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend this home for your Exuma stay.

Monica was great communicating. We LOVED renting the boat, getting massages, and wonderful chef Joe! The views are outstanding. The water is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!

We have just ended a glorious seven-day stay at the Mandarin House. From beginning to end, Monica was accommodating and flexible. We had to change our reservation, not once, but twice, and she was so patient with us!The house is divided into three separate buildings. The main house has a living room, dining room, kitchen (SO well-stocked - there is even a full drawer of spices and seasonings), laundry room, half bath, and a large master suite. Huge windows allow you a constant view of the beautiful turquoise water. The second building houses another king bedroom, a “bunk room”, a bath, another kitchen with hibachi-style grill, and a pool bath with shower. The third space is a cute studio with bedroom and bath. The buildings are all connected by decks, many of them covered. All of this allowed plenty of spaces for our family of 8 to congregate, as well as plenty of space to spread out for a little quiet time. The pool is lovely and is maintained throughout the week by a pool crew (we saw them at least twice. There is a huge abundance of pool floats, as well as life jackets, beach towels, and snorkeling gear. We enjoyed the dock, the kayaks and paddle boards almost daily.On the other side of things, we did have a couple of issues with water, but they were taken care of quickly and with little interruptions in our activities. We all agreed that the mattresses were the hardest EVER! Some areas could use a few updates, but all-in-all, this house was perfect for our crew!

Nice place; Awesome host

The property was perfect for our group of 4 couples. Everyone had their own space and plenty of room to stretch out. We enjoyed the pool on the property and the dock and view! Both the host and owner were quite helpful and responsive!

Beautiful.

We had an amazing stay! The views were perfect. We all enjoyed the wonderful pool and hibachi bar. We loved the set up for our group. Any issues we ran into were quickly addressed by Monica! It was nice not having direct beach access this time and we explored more of the island.

The Mandarin House was perfect for our family of 9. Plenty of room to spread out and have our own space. The house had everything you would need for a great time in Exuma. Kitchen was well appointed with anything you might need for cooking meals. The generator was great for power outages. Filtered water available. Loved the pool and dock for boat we rented from Drex. He was great to work with. Monica and Jonas were great host and always responded quickly to any questions.
