Lovely lake house

The house is spacious and well equipped. It's a lovely property and a short walk to a wonderful beach. The host was accommodating. We'd stay again!

Wonderful old cottage and new apartment above the garage. The outdoor space is large and very accommodating for family functions. It was unusually hot that week and the wall AC unit managed to keep up. We had sooo much fun there!!

Shady cozy retreat near Lake Michigan and Swedish Bakery

Pleasant time with family. I appreciated the Chikaming nature trail. Beach access is by 53 steps. Those are sturdy and well built, but not for people with week knees! There are nice benches along the way down.

Great Long Weekend Getaway

Wonderful property, easy walk to the beach, perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 toddlers. The combination of a 3 bedroom house and a studio carriage house allows for so much flexibility. We would love to return.

Property needs upkeep

The cottage has trees growing from the gutters and it smelled extremely musty. It looked dilapidated from the outside. The inside wasn’t bad, but definitely not updated in any way. The apartment above the garage was really nice and new though.

Awesome porch!!!

The property was great for our stay! The overall cleanliness was a 3 on a 1 to 5. First step coming into porch was a loose board and there were comments on that in the guest book in 2018. There was also a large muddy hole in the driveway which was pretty unavoidable with 2 cars. Also comments on that in the guest book. A little TLC could help but overall I still give it a strong 4. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

House is rustic but cozy. Enjoyed the fire pit every night. Washer and dryer were like new. Kitchen and linens were well stocked. Folding wagon in garage made hauling things to the beach easy. The host was fabulous to work with. I had a couple of questions and she answered right away.

We love to stay here because the house + detached apartment above the garage is perfect for our family + friends. The residential neighborhood is quiet and just a 1 minute drive from the beach.

Not great for the price

This place is fine if you need a place in the area. It was mostly clean, the bathroom could have used some attention. With the astronomical cleaning fee and them asking you to wash all dishes before you leave (which we do anyway), you would expect the dishes you pull out of the cabinets to be clean, they were not. The price of this place for what you get is way out of line. I've stayed in this region dozens of times and have found way nicer places with functional a kitchen for less. We were disappointed.

weekend trip

The rental was generally dirty and the beds were not made. Respective of covid concerns, I would think the majority of renters do not want to make the beds. Make sure to bring extra blankets as well as they have removed them. Even though management stated they would address issues raised in previous reviews that was not the case. We were not expecting 5 star accommodations understanding this is a lake cabin, but there is a minimum level of cleanliness that was not met.

Cozy cottage with a great location!

Cute cottage and studio. Just enough room for our family. Great location next to Cherry Beach and close drive to Warren Dunes. The Swedish bakery is amazing!

Much needed family getaway

We had a great stay. This property gave us plenty of room for our five adults and two children. The two grandparents stayed in the loft apartment over the garage. It was like a beautiful treehouse. The rest of the family had adequate room in the cottage. Both places were amply stocked with cookware, dishes and glasses. Loved the large yard and fire pit !

Great Family Time at Lakes/Dunes

We enjoyed our stay and time at Lake Michigan. Lindsey was helpful in helping making everything enjoyable and clean (even with COVID-19 making things more complicated). We enjoyed many days checking out the lakes and dunes. Came back and thoroughly enjoyed the nice outdoor shower and ample lines for drying suits and towels). A few family favorites included the campfire and making s’mores and memories, the great yard space for the kids to play, and we loved sitting on the screen porch enjoying coffee and time together. Thanks for sharing your home with us-we enjoyed it very much!

A great place for a lake vacation

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It's easy to get to the lake, the years is great for grilling and campfires, and the kids enjoyed the games provided in the house.

Nice but somewhat neglected

First the good news: We enjoyed our stay in this house. We loved the screen porch, the yard, and the fire pit. The houses and living spaces are fine. There are adequate linens, lawn and beach chairs, other useful outdoor items, and working appliances. The signs of neglect: decayed plywood platform outside of the garage apartment, a hole dug in the yard that we had to put a lawn chair over so that we didn't hurt ourselves by stumbling into it, a very disorganized kitchen, and a living room chair with vinyl upholstery that sheds like crazy. We liked the outdoor shower. About half the windows have screens. It's a great location in the Michigan fruit belt and near good beaches, but just know what you are going to get for your money.

Quite, comfortable little home

All the necessities in the house. Well stocked. Very quiet but close to Cherry beach, dunes, blueberry patch & Swedish bakery. :-) Older home that could use a lot of updates, but comfortable.
