It’s a great old place, loads of room and charm. We stayed Saturday night and the whole neighbourhood was rocking, great if you want to be in the centre of the action, if not you should ask for a room round the back, it may be quieter

Good location and lovely bones but showing lots of signs that it's not being well maintained. Poor parking facilities, plumbing not working well, lift weight limit reduced and it bangs and shudders during operation, broken mirrors, worn carpets etc. It's still nice but it needs work.

No in house bar or dinning. Room key had to be reprogrammed daily even though the stay was multiple days. Found four items under bed plus had not seen a vacuum in ages. Over priced for tarrif. Bath/shower was a nightmare accident waiting too Happen. Noise from street until 4am both nights. Fighting oposite, traffic noise. A tired and run down hotel. Bed covers badly stained. Two adjoining restaurants back entrances opened into the Hotel reception area even though the Hotel Main door was lock coded for guest entrance after 10pm. Car parking and terraces close when reception closes At 10pm. But these 2 restaurants have access to hotel areas after 10pm when no hotel staff are present. This is a security risk for Hotel patrons. The stairs and lift are not key carded so the entire upper floors are accessible . On the plus side convenient to downtown if you do not have your own transportation. Walkable to Cafès, restaurants.and Casino.

L’hôtel est ancien, et vieillot ,nous n’étions pas bien placés, le logement était en bas des escaliers, d’où la difficulté de descendre les marches compte tenu de notre opération du genou à 2’personnes sur 3, le personnel avec un accueil moyen,… en gros nous n’étions pas satisfaits. Par contre l’avantage que l’hôtel est bien placé. Je ne le recommande pas. Je laisse les clients le tester.

The hotel and staff were lovely. Very helpful receptionist. The room was good, spacious and the kids loved the very squishy beds! A little dated in parts but did us for the night. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything the neighbour was doing from watching their TV to them even coughing (and other bodily functions)! Outside was very noisy but this was to be somewhat expected with the location of the hotel (near the bar/club district) and that it was a Friday night however the constant revving of a motorbike or car engine at 3am was not pleasant. Over all was OK and we have booked to come back

I It was okay nothing out if the ordinary, basically just another hotel. Not happy about the fact nowhere meantioned a bond payment which left my partner and I without the ability to do anything for our 2 night stay! Will not be back

although the room was clean .Constant sound of water running in the room but wasnt our bathroom, must have freshly painted as there was smell of paint that caused two of us to have headaches unable to discuss this with anyone on departure as no one at the front desk at 8am guessing they left because of the stench we could smell...a sewage blockage, was not pleasant. Tanker was out the back clearing where we had to exit, back door open allowing smell to waft past restaurants open doors and into the lobby, some distance away, had to watch where we were steping. disappointing as this in its daywas a very grand hotel when it was le Grand. however for the $116 for the night I guess you get what you pay for.

Everything was allgoods but tell the people who are staying there in advance that there will be a 200 dollars bond, especially if the people you are telling are broke uni students with about 100 bucks each. Very lame to not have any money like we planned for the night we were there.

I loved staying here. So convenient to tons of cafes, restaurants and shops. My room was huge and the bed was comfortable. I was off the street so very quiet. The property's seen better days but still comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.

This tired vintage property has very large rooms and large comfortable beds. It has a very small elevator and is very close to the Casino being at the south end of Victoria St and close to Centre Place Shopping

I like the retro vibe this hotel has. Had hot water issues which was a bummer when I wanted to use the bath. Some of the lights didn't work.

TERRIBLE! Never going back. Avoid at all costs. Horrible uncomfortable beds, old building/decor, 1cm border where carpet meets wall doesn't get vacuumed - tempted to leave but we were only staying 1 night so persevered, however at 1am-3am we REALLY regretted it as rooms are not soundproofed so CBD noise from cars revving & drunks screaming & fighting is horrendous on weekends. Couldn't heat room when awake & cold at 1am as aircon only worked on cold and it's literally blasted across the master bed. Can not change or redirect aircon. They also charge $50(!!!!!) if you lose your room key.

My first room had such a terrible odour I had to request a move. The room was noisy, shower had one temperature that was scalding, room felt unclean. Access to the car park felt unsafe and was very dirty. Wouldn't stay there again.

Lots of restaurants close by, almost on the water. Incredibly high ceilings! Internal layout was unique, could be tricky for people with mobility concerns. (Some rooms were accessed by walking up a few stairs or down a few stairs compared to others on the same level.) Would stay here again.
